Defenseless

It was during the time when May and Drew were travelling together.

"There we go"said May after liting the fire on the dry woods. Drew looked at her and smiled, she didn't see it though.

They were in the middle of a forest, lost. After some time, they had their dinner and went to sleep.

They had to share a tent because May had "accidentally" dropped her tent in the river and it got swept away thus she asked Drew to share his tent with her.

Although Drew didn't got angry because he knew about May's clumsiness but he didn't accepted her to stay in his tent that easily. May had to apologize for like 100 or more times and request him, until he finnaly gave in.

That wasn't just once that they had to share a tent, it had happened way too many times almost everyday in the forest.

Many days passed after the first time they shared a tent and it still continued. At first may didn't had money to buy a new tent.

Reason? It was because after staying so long with Drew she had learned that whenever you buy something, you should buy it of top quality and the best resulting her with having no tent.

In the end she had to listen to Drew's long lecture about "being prepared" to be able to share his tent.

It then became a habit for them to share a tent after not buying a new one for 2 whole month and forgetting all about it.

It was like any other night stuck in the middle of nowhere in the forest. May was sitting on the log by the camp fire with drew beside her.

They both prepared the food and drew was now cooking them on the campfire they set .

"Is it done yet? " May asked impatiently.

"No not yet" Drew said knowingly.

"Now? " May asked.

"No"Drew replies.

"And Now?! " May asked.

"Who knows" Drew replied smirking.

"Ugh! Dreeewwww!!"May screamed irritated.

Drew chuckled at May's childishness which after seeing may had calm down.

To distract herself from hunger May started staring at the campfire. Noticing the beautiful flames and fell asleep soon after.

Drew noticed and smiled.

"Silly girl" He thought"at least sleep in the tent". Then Drew covered her with a blanket and resumed his cooking .

While cooking he thought about a few things and also how may "forgot" To buy a new tent and suddenly felt unhappy about something.

"She is so defenseless" He thought.

"Though I haven't seen her like this with anyone. She should take more care of herself"This wasn't the first time he thought that. He had come to one this.

"Either May may be too much of an airhead or..... She might not see him as a guy. " That hurt a lot.

Certainly he was happy about how close they were but it wouldn't be good if see didn't even see him as someone of the opposite sex.

Soon after the food was cooked and May woke up by the smell. "Hmmmm...Something Smells delicious"

"Morning sleepy head. Dinner's ready"

"Good Good!!"They both had their meal and went in the tent to sleep.

"Hey Drew how about we sleep under the sky tonight ? the weather is good. Sky is beautiful....So¿?"

"It's fine I guess."

"Ok then" May went and brought a mat to sleep on and 2 blankets. They still had their tent out just in case.

After sone time Drew still couldn't sleep.
Ugh. Why?! He thought to himself.

"Hey May. U awake?" He wispered slowly.

"Yeah. Couldn't sleep as soon cuz I slept a little earlier"

"Hmmmm......."

"So?....."

"So¿?"

"What's taking your sleep away? "

"Nothing much. Speaking of which, do you always sleep like that when u have nothing to do? "

"Hey! That's rude! And what do you mean 'like that' hun?!"

"I mean... Without any awareness like .... how ur always defenseless" Drew said a bit hesitated.

"Of course not! Why would I?! I wasn't like that even when I was Traveling with ash, brock and my brother! "

"Then why with me?" Drew asked with a stone face.

"Cuz I know u won't do anything " May said snickering.

"Why wouldn't I ?" Drew said a bit angry.

"Cuz u don't have the gut!" May said without thinking, flustered.

"Why not? " Said the proved Drew.

He rolled over on top of May trapping her between his arms like a wall slam.

May blushed hard and Drew still had a serious face. He started to lean on May slowly. The closer he came the redder May became. May couldn't process what had happened. She was to surprised to react.

When he was almost kissing her she squinted her eyes as a reflex. But nothing happened. She opened her eyes and found Drew in his original position gazing at the sky.

"See? That's why u shouldn't be so defenseless You're a girl in the end after all.
Take better care of yourself. You should be careful even if it's me..." Then he shut his eyes and rest his hand on his head.

May kept her eyes on him and replied after a few minutes. "It's your fault in the first place! Why do you make me feel so comfortable around u? Scaring me like that! I wasn't expecting that! I wasn't sad or disappointed, I just didn't have the time to react. "

May looked at Drew, he was lying motionless, maybe he fell asleep.

"Baka!!baka! Baka!.......
.
.
.
I think I was more happy than surprised , I just couldn't react in time..."May whispered slowly. And noticed Drew sudden movement though it was a little.

May realised, flushed red. She sat up moved closer to Drew and moved his hand away slowly No way! He heard it all?! She noticed his flushed face and his open eyes looking into hers embarrassed.

"Ugggg!!!" May screamed covering her eyes. "So embarrassing!!!"

Drew sat up in front of may and slapped his head "How am I supposed to sleep now...."

May saw Drew's reaction through her fingers. "Hey!.....We could..... Maybe use one blanket....." Tomato May, suggested.

"I suppose.... It wouldn't hurt to share once in a while"Drew rubbed his head still embarrassed.

Then they snuggled till the morning. Although they couldn't sleep well for the next few days, they were very satisfied with their sharing.

Soon after a rumor started to spread that the prince and princess of hoenn were going out, though it was yet to confirm no one seemed to deny it.
