[t/w: violence, child abuse]

With her A+ filled report card in her tiny hands, Yui made her way towards her father's office. Felix couldn't help but smile as he watched her skip all excitedly toward her father's whereabouts.

"What are you waiting for, Yui? Go ahead and knock!," Felix pushed, raising his brows at the girl in front of him. Yui usually had a poker face on and would only let loose when she was inside of her room alone with Felix, so the red-haired boy was happy to see her expressing her happiness publicly.

As if her mood took an 180-degree turn, her smile turned into pursed lips. "Eh? What's wrong? Come on! Your father will be proud of you for sure," Felix cheered, giving her an eye smile and a thumbs up .

"Okay then, wish me luck monsieur Robane~," she teased, earning a playful eyeroll from the latter. "Good luck then, young mistress," Felix teased back, sticking his tongue out.

With her heart pounding in her chest, she knocked on the large door. "It's me papá," she informed. The large wooden doors opened grandly, revealing Henri Chastain's extravagant office.

"Papá, I received my grades today. I'm top of my class again! I hope you are pleased--"

As if rehearsed, she quickly kneeled on the ground, not minding the burning feeling on her cheek.

"Am I pleased? Yui, papá is disappointed. I told you that I want you to be way above everyone else, didn't I? Your final grade is 97, the student second to you is 96. That is unacceptable!," her father's enraged yell made her ears ring. Her body started to tremble as she heard big footsteps walk closer to her.

She bit the inside of her cheek until it started to bleed. Henri grabbed his daughter's face, making her look up. His eye started to twitch as she saw tears cascading down her delicate face.

Another slap. A hard one.

"What did I say about tears?!," he screamed in her face, making her blink back her tears. "Papá despises tears, so Yui must never cry," she answered.

"You, get my walking stick," Henri ordered a random servant. Yui's eyes grew large as she saw her father fold his sleeves up. She already knew what was about to happen, but she couldn't do anything about it.

All she could do was keep mum while biting her lip down to prevent her from crying or screaming in pain while her father swung his cane left and right. She was confused. She didn't know what hurt more; the fact that she was getting beaten to death with a stick, or the fact that her best still wasn't enough?

Yui was a strong girl, but even strong people have their limitations. She let out a pained shriek as the cane hit her right in the face. She knew she would get punished more for crying, but she couldn't hold it in anymore.

"Shut up, you useless child!"

She covered her face as she expected another blow, but she felt none. Her skin turned as white as paper as her lips went pale. Her blue irises trembled as guilt started to eat her inside. "No.. no stop it! Papá! ," she yelled, trying to stand up, but with her bruised legs, she couldn't.

"Felix get out of there!," she yelled as she sat there watching in horror as Felix received the blows in her stead. As if a switch was flipped, her father walked towards her. "You damn insolent thing," he cursed before grabbing the girl's neck tightly.

"No!," she yelled as she sat up from the bed, grasping for air. Confused, she looked around the dark room. She remembered sleeping on Rindou's shoulder back in the living room, but now she was in her room and changed into comfortable clothes. Her heart was racing as her tears unconsciously flowed across her cheeks. She couldn't breathe properly. It was as if his father's hands were still on her neck. Being haunted by the traumatizing past that your father gave, it was suffocating.

"What was that?," Sanzu asked, rubbing his eyes with one hand while the other held his robe together. One by one, the doors of the executives' rooms opened.

"Is it me or did I hear Fuyumi scream?," Rindou asked, not minding to even tie or close his robe. The disoriented males gave each other an unsure look before Mochi decided to walk up to her door, knocking gently.

"Don't touch the door, Mochizuki," everyone bowed as they heard Mikey's voice from across the hall. The signature sound of his flipflops echoed through the empty space as he turned around the corner to Fuyumi's room.

"Sir, may I go in? I know how to deal with her nightmares the best," all gazes went to Felix who had his hair all messy. Kakucho wanted to punch Felix for a second, but he couldn't deny since it probably was true .

"I'll handle it, you all wait here," Mikey responded. Felix was hesitant, but in the end he had to abide. Slowly twisting the knob and pushing the door open, they were greeted with the dark inside of Fuyumi's room. As soon as Mikey flipped the light switch on, eyes widened and jaws dropped.

There she was, hugging her knees tightly as her body trembled. Some part of Mikey ached. The scene reminded him too much of Emma; how she used to hug her knees while Mikey covered her ears with his tiny hands because she was terrified of thunder . It was a natural reaction of him to go to her and pat her head.

"Mikey..," she began, her tears started to fall uncontrollably as she tried to catch her breath. "Shhh, I'm here," the blonde boy whispered, sitting down beside her.

"What was your dream about--"

"S-Sir..!," Felix butted in, earning a karate chop on the nape from Sanzu. "Don't interrupt the boss," he scolded.

"Forgive my rudeness, but that topic is a bit too personal, and I know myself that it's quite difficult to share," the redhead explain while caressing the the forming bruise on the back of his neck. Mikey stared at the girl for a few seconds before beginning his statement.

"You can tell me anything, Fuyumi. After all, I'm your brother."

"Boss! You're not blood-related!," Sanzu yelled, making Fuyumi flinch.

"And I don't mind. We don't share a single DNA, but she does with Kota, and Kota is my brother who shares a quarter of the same blood as mine," he explained, receiving utter silence from Sanzu in return.

"So.. the test was positive? You and Kota have the same mom?," she asked, sniffling in between her words. Mikey gave her a soft smile as he wrapped a blanket around her.

"Yes. Starting right now, drop your last name."

"But Mikey!," Koko interrupted. "Let him be if you don't want your black cards to disappear," Takeomi whispered, elbowing Kokonoi.

"Sano Kota, Sano Fuyumi... has a nice ring to it, right?," Mikey asked, his eyes closing as they formed a warm smile.

For the first time in a good while, she finally had someone else to call her 'family'. Whether they carried the same blood or not, it didn't really matter to Mikey. What mattered the most to him was the thought that he was no longer alone.

"It does."
