Avery's POV

Everyone was already in class so I was late for my first day for first period. Great. I'm the only one in the hall and when I get to my class, I'm going to have all eyes on me.

There was apparently a problem with my schedule but in the end there was nothing wrong. I just wasted most of first period.

And then, I had trouble getting my locker open!

I was walking to my class when I bumped into something.

I fall backwards and hit the ground.

Ugh.

Someone was running around this corner on their phone.

Looks like I'm not the only one who's late...

"Ow," I say, looking up to see the most popular girl in school, Rebecca, getting up off the floor.

Crap. This isn't happening! I'm going to be late!

I get up off the floor.

"Omg! I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to! It..." I say, getting blocked off by Rebecca.

"It was all your fault! Great now I'm going to be late to class!" she says.

"I'm sorry!" I say.

"Get lost, you piece of trash!" she says, walking past me. Her shoulder hits mine hard.

"And buy some new clothes that arn't from a dumpster!" She yells over her shoulder.

I look down at the clothes that I'm wearing.

"My clothes are not from a dumpster!" I scream after her.

"I'm sure that's where you get all your clothes!" I add.

That was a mistake...

I instantly see her freeze.

She slowly starts to turn around.

"What was that?" she says. "Did the skank just talk back to me?"

She points to herself with both index fingers.

"I'm not a skank either..." I growl, standing up to her level.

"Talking back again?" she laughs. "I don't think so..."

She shoves me back.

Hard.

My mouth makes an 'O' shape.

I walk in front of her and shove her back, obviously not as hard as she did, but as hard as I could possibly push her.

Her mouth makes an 'O' shape too.

She walks infront of me again and BAM!

"Ow!" I scream, holding my nose that she just punched.

I quickly start running away towards the nurse.

"Yeah, run away to your mommy, you tramp!" she yells after me.

I feel like I'm about to cry.

The bell rings and everyone rushes out of all the classroom doors.

They all give me dirty glares between Rebecca and me. They probably noticed that we fought because my nose was bleeding.

They all start laughing.

Oh God...

What now?!

I run into the bathroom and into a stall. I lock the door and quickly pick up some tissues. I put them under my nose to soak in the blood.

I walk out of the stall once my nose stops bleeding and you'll never guess who I see.

Connor.

What?

This is the girls bathroom...

"What are you doing in here?" he says, causing me to jump.

"This is the girls bathroom," I say.

"No it's not," he starts to laugh. "This is the boy's restroom..."

"What?!" I scream.

I run out of the room and look at the sign.

Sure enough, it was the boy's room.

Perfect... just perfect first day of school Avery...
