When talking about south Indian foods many people think it is just idly, dosa, sambar, etc..but in reality, it isn't. India is so diverse. The same goes for south Indian states too. Idly, dosa, etc are just some breakfasts we 5 states share. But both we 5 States have our cuisines. I just wrote it to avoid misunderstanding.
I am here only talking about Kerala food🙂(that is all I know).

As a Malayali, I don't know many foods in our cuisine without containing coconut. Like, as in the grated form, coconut milk, or at least in the form of coconut oil, Coconut is an important factor.

Be it breakfast or evening snacks, sweet or spicy foods, veg or nonveg, one way or another way coconut is present in there😊.

These are just some of them. we add coconut in meat, eggs too. well perhaps you feel weird, but even though many types of food have a common ingredient, everything didn't taste the same. And it's all taste good(pinnalla😇).

And everyone who saw coconut can understand it's not easy to remove its out cover(thondu).breaking it and grinding too can be a Herculean task. And in a house in Kerala, we need at least one coconut per day in our Kitchen. But to make it easy we have our traditional equipment too. like 'Paara' is used for removing the thondu and 'Chirava' is used for scraping coconut.
