Chapter 5: Pretending

Ash pov  

There she is standing in front of me with her light grey eyes that has been captivating me since the last time I saw her. She is wearing a light brown sweater with a matching skirt. She looks at me in the same way she did last time. I'm not able to take my eyes off her for an unknown reason.

"Ash!! I'm talking to you. Are you listening to me?" my teacher asks with his irritating voice.

"Perhaps," I answer in a bored voice.

"Perhaps? Do you think this is the right way to talk to your teacher like this? he asks but I stay silent until he gets tired of me and tells me to go and sit.

" Ash I'm going to ask you one more time and if you don't respond to me then you are getting detention for showing disrespect towards your teacher," he says hoping that I won't embarrass him in front of his students.

"Dude, do you fucking want to get a detention and miss your practice today? We have a match this coming week. For god sake just say something" Noah walks towards me and whispers. I thought about it for a moment and give in.

" I missed my bus so I had to wait for another half an hour for the next bus to arrive," I say even though I don't remember when was the last time I travelled by bus.

"But that doesn't mean you can be late to class," he says in a relieving voice that I responded to him.

Is he fucking serious? I would punch him If he isn't my teacher. Anger boils through me and before I could say anything he told me to sit. I gave a death glare to him and sit in my seat.

"So Azaleah could you repeat what you were saying earlier," he asks her.

"Azaleah" I hum to myself

she hesitates at first and starts to fidget with her fingers. I wonder why she is always nervous around people?

She clears her throat and says"Uhmm yeah so as I was saying earlier my name is Azaleah Willson and I'm 17 years old. That's it" she says in a low voice that everyone could barely hear her.

"Okay that's nice now you may sit beside uhmmmm" he starts to look around for an available seat.

"Here! She can sit beside me. This place is empty." a girl at the corner says. I relax a bit knowing she is not sitting with any assholes.

Wait why am I even bothered about it? It's not like she is my girlfriend or something plus she is far away from my type. I don't like naive and innocent girls like her neither I will fall for her.

"Don't you think you are staring at her for a long time?" Noah asks while smirking."I agree she is hot but you have to remember that you have a hotter girlfriend"

I grit my teeth and say"I'm not staring at her and don't fucking take Kira name here. We both know why I'm with her apart from our physical contacts."

"I know that man but that doesn't mean she is not your girlfriend. I know that she can be a nut and bitch sometimes but you can't deny that she is hot or the hottest girl in our whole school. Everyone is dying to have her and you are just ruining it" 

" I swear to god---

"Can you guys keep quiet or else I will send both of you out?" our teacher says while pointing towards us and continuing to write his crap on the board.

"I swear I'm going to kill this bitch someday soon." Noah murmurs 

"Yoo dude do you recognize her? Aiden peeks

" Who?" I ask

"The new girl sitting beside Sadie," he says pointing at Azaleah

"No, I don't think so," I say because if I say I remember her or anything he will continue his crap and that will end up me kicking him in his place then he won't be able to have kids anymore.
