"I know what you can get me for Valentine's Day."Camila looked up from her phone where she'd been texting Ashe. Camila was torn now, both wanting to confide in her friend and not give too much personal information away—seeing as that's what caused their fight to begin with.
'Shawn seemed a little mad when I left. Did something happen? Are you sure you're okay?'
'we had a fight. it was over something dumb and i promise we're fine now.'
'Was it his fault? Tell him I said don't be such a tool.'
Camila looked over at Shawn, trying not to giggle as she cautiously repeated the message.
"Ashe says don't be a tool."
"I'm not being a tool." Shawn came over and wrapped his arms around her, crushing her tight against him. "In fact, you can tell Ashe that's never going to happen again. Next time we fight, I'm gonna hold you just like this so you can't leave me!"
Camila laughed, Shawn's scent so good, his arms so strong around her. She tried to wiggle out of his arms, her phone falling somewhere on the floor as she pulled away, only for Shawn to hold her tighter, climbing onto the couch and pinning her under him completely.
Camila stopped laughing, her heart racing just from being in this position. She opened her eyes, their faces barely an inch apart his arms on either side of her body, still trapping her. She could feel his leg in between hers.
Her eyes moved down to the spot on his neck. Like she'd predicted, the bite she'd left on him from their night of make-up sex was very noticeable on the pale skin of his neck, right above the collar of his t-shirt.
"I know what you're thinking." She said, feeling his hand touching her side. "And if you try and tickle me, I'm gonna kick you in the crotch."
"Heard." He quickly crawled off of her and Camila laughed, sitting up, her hair falling in her face where their wrestling had messed up her ponytail.
Their fight honestly felt like ages ago, in another lifetime. She couldn't even imagine it now, Shawn ever yelling at her or making her cry, or her ever even running away. This was her home now, and even if they did fight again, they both swore it wasn't going to be like last time.
She reached for her phone on the floor, trying to hide how much that position had flustered her as Shawn flopped down on the couch beside her.
"But seriously—my present. You wanna hear my idea?"
She and Shawn had been talking about it earlier, what to do for their first Valentine's that was coming up in less than a week. Camila had suggested having a spending limit on their gifts, seeing as that went perfectly with the idea she already had.
She planned on going to some thrift stores around town to get him new t-shirts. She loved how conscious he was about the products he consumed, but she also couldn't stand that half of what he wore was full of holes. She planned on getting him new shirts and then sneakily throwing some of his more raggedy ones in the trash.
"Maybe I already have a good idea for one."
"Well, just listen to this." He leaned towards her, his eyes wide and pleading. "What if you finally let me go all out and spoil you like I've always wanted?"
"Shawn, what about the spending limit?" She reminded him.
"But that's the thing—it'd be your gift to me! It'd be free! So, all the money I spend wouldn't count as my gift to you, and it wouldn't count towards your gift to me, since it's my money. Get it?"
