Zaina's mother had come home, yet Zaina was still not back. Her mother had been worried when she had come in, but Amima herself did not know where they had gone. Zaina should have told her, yet Amima felt guilty for not insisting. It was evening when she heard a faint knock on the door. She eagerly opened the door. Zaina and her friend were safe. Instead she met Samah and no Zaina.
"Hey. Did you see Zee?" she asked. The girl's eyes were wide, her face containing an expression of shock and extreme horror. And there was fear. When she spoke, her voice barely surpassed a whisper.
"S-she's dead."
