Chapter 17 - Run for Life(His 1st POV)

Ariif wishes he could do more than talk. He wants Anne. He never felt this after so long. He never finds someone special after his ex cheated on him with his ex-best friend not until Anne appeared in his life. He thought she would like him even a bit. But yeah, maybe one day. The approachable was made because of that day when Khairi told him she made a confession that she likes Khairi. He promptly told him to confess before it is too late.

"Anne messaged me just now. She said she like me. Before it's too late, better..." 

"Tell her you like her, Ariif. Someone else might be after her as well" He adds.

He thought it was the right time for Ariif to confess and let him reply in lieu. He was being thoughtful of his friend. He should reply back and told her the truth but his judgemental trait made him think that Anne was not his type because she was cold and cocky. He then told him to use his account to reply as he did not have his own account. But the latter rejected him at first. Yet do it nonetheless.

He felt bad as she thought he was Khairi. It made him nervous thus he postpone the confession. He had to stop replying to her message to make her forget about it. And did that for months. He bet she already has moved on as he did not reply also does not want her to hate him more than she already did though he did not know why it was fun teasing her. His face actually was kind of innocent although he has the bad boy vibe at times.

He likes her since he saw her on one of his social media which was 8 years ago when his friend was scrolling in the explore. He never got a chance to meet her till he coincidentally saw her location on her latest post early this year. He studied Chemical Engineering in the same university as her but rarely saw her. Their faculty were a tad far yet since that day as well he would go to her faculty nearly every week to see her in many glances. But she was oblivious. Yet one day, he sensed a sixth sense thing was around her faculty at 7 o'clock(He knew she went to the class early so he decided to catch a glimpse of her). The thing was far but he did not feel good about it as something terrible would happen.

He was intrigued with it and tried finding any clue or hint as to where it was located yet he lost after several minutes. He almost tripped as he paced without knowing where he went though it was close. He could feel it. He looked at his left and right but found no one. Why does Anne always come to the class early? He thought as it was odd. Too early though. He glanced above on the fourth floor and saw a man and a woman were talking. 

His heart started beating faster. He did not know why. He carried on searching one more time but found nothing. The sixth sense feeling was gone when he looked at the two people. "Are they jinn? Or maybe one of them? But why it's abruptly gone?" He queried himself. The woman actually was Anne but he did not see her face as she showed her back. 

He could only see the man and somehow he looked like him. Are we twins? He thought. Weird. He then regarded it, looking at his watch and it showed fifteen past seven. He raced to his car as soon as possible as it took 20 minutes far to his faculty. Don't wanna be late for the class.

Later in the evening, he was free and did not have class so he went to the cafeteria near Anne's faculty. As he was sitting, he saw her walking to the cafe alone in another direction. He took the chance to stare at her in secret but after she reached, he unbelievably saw an entity(shadow) behind her. It was shocking. He wondered why it followed her and his speciality as well did not work like usual. He could not get the goosebumps(sixth sense) he felt earlier in the morning. He knew she was nice to everyone but what the entity wants with her?

The next week, he heard her talk about going to Japan but he did not know why it made him feel uneasy. He had to follow her friends and her to the cinema and everywhere they went then the grocery store incident where he wants to tell her something but she refused as well as at her house where he warned her. He wants to tell her the reason but heard a car sound in front of her house. Plus, on second thought he could not tell her yet as he does not want to scare her. He just got a bad feeling about the trip. The strange encounter ever but he had to divulge himself because of the entity and the Japan trip.
