A bloody fight erupted between the two princes and the bandits of the Shadow Clan. For a whole day, the two princes tried to penetrate the area studded with the gang members and reach their leader's den, but this drained their full energy as they were physically exhausted.
The fighting continued until the darkness fell and sat on the throne of the sky swallowing in its course every remaining light. Now when the vision was completely obscured, the two princes felt the rustle of swift movements between the branches of the trees.
They were definitely surrounded by professional assassins, locating them was almost impossible, however, knowing they were around them seeking to take the lives of them was little frightening."Prince Yunlan! Do you hear them?"
"I do, I thought we killed more than half of them but it seems I was wrong. The closer we get, the more powerful they become." Prince Yunlan sighed, stopping his pacing and focusing on his hearing."The Dark Forest is growing stronger by the moment, and yet our forces are perishing"
"What's wrong Prince Yunlan! Stop whining. I know you're out of power brother, but fortunately my mind is still awake and functioning. Just rely on me brother, I will save our Princess" Prince Yunlan was coaxed. His face looked relaxed and unconcerned.
Fatigue definitely exhausted him, but the devious plan he drew was reassuring a little. Kunlan needed to reach Prince Wei before his resources were extinguished, due to the signal he was receiving secretly, the number of his secret army began to decrease to twenty fighters.
"Hold on a minute! Did you just call Shen Wei 'our princess'?" There was a quiet moment as Kunlun's words sunk in his brother's head, then a groan grumbled irritably in Yunlan's throat.
"Who says that is a total jerk" Prince Kunlun mumbled. When the other Prince snorted with disbelief, Kunlun continued."I was just joking. Let's just focus here. Can we?"Kunlun's eyes gleamed in amusement, having fun bothering his twin.
"Like you said, let's focus" Prince Yunlan irritably said with a nod. After a while, the two of them felt the faint sound of the moving trees above them disappeared, and the place fell silent. Only what was heard to them was the echo of their footsteps as they took steps forward.
"How could first commander come out alive from such a place, I doubt him?"After Prince Kunlun whispered he felt chills run through his body. The air temperature suddenly dropped to the lowest level as they reached the dark river, and only the sound of running water could be heard.
The two of them stood on the edge of the river, carrying their wooden fire torches, trying to find a way to cross the River and reach the other bank. While thinking, the two of them spotted a significant number of bandits on the other side carrying their torches and standing behind their leader, who appeared to be an exact copy of their abducted Prince.
Yunlan's burning eyes were fixed on Yezun and his handsome face which was terribly cold and deadly. His face turned pale the moment he received a sharp spear piercing his chest."My Prince" Shen Wei who was taken hostage snapped while clenching his fists as he tried his best to hold back the tears in his eyes.
Yunlan fell to his knees as he tried to remove the spear, but to no avail. It pierced the deepest point in his chest leaving him lying on the ground between life and death. Prince Kunlun ran to his brother's side and carried him in his arms. How could one of the mightiest worriors of the Great Empire fall so easily? He struggled between his thoughts.
Prince Kunlun whistled for help, and in a moment of great weakness, he looked from afar how many bandits raised their swords around Yezun's neck. Yes, it was Kunlun's genius plan to insinuate his criminal and outlaw bandits into the Shadow Clan.
