The Emperor could never have guessed that he could find himself in a worse situation than his selection upon the heir of his Golden Throne. Massive agonies, slowly seeing his beloved son dying. He waited for more weeks before he decided to hold a big ceremony where he could announce his next successor as planned.

However, if Yunlan was to be recovered, he was going to beat his brother Kunlun to a whining pulp for that, and even start a bloody war. But, it had been months passing When he didn't show any sign of waking up. There was something worse, and this endless void was it. The Emperor wasn't even sure what to do to be fair to both his sons.

He had been communicating with his followers from respected member in the ministry who were relatively sane and helpful, "Your highness, I request we wait some more" Obviously saying that was commander Xin Ci's voice announcing his best guess. The other men with big influence finally stopped being polite and started murdering him with their glares.

"I wouldn't be apposed to do that, however, the next Crown Prince must be appointed quickly to resolve the matter, I do not want the matter to take longer and chaos ensues both kingdoms" The Emperor admitted, and bit his lip before he carried out with his statement. "Doctors said that his health is deteriorating, it's good enough that he is still alive."

"Uncle!" Xin Ci unconsciously called the Emperor a non-royal title, and it was very rare that someone called his highness with a family title. This was considered strictly forbidden. Xin Ci earned a lethal glare before he was sternly answered, "We shouldn't be greedy commander Zhao! We should embrace reality. In tomorrow's event someone will be appointed as an Heir to the Throne."

Suddenly the expressions on the faces of those around the meeting table within the royal residence of the Great Empire changed. Everyone was trying to control their bewilderment and obey the Emperor's orders regardless of the ambiguity surrounding the identity of the chosen successor.

They all were asking why the Emperor didn't pronounce Prince Kunlan's name? And said 'someone' instead? What does his highness mean behind that? Can someone be appointed outside the ruling family?. These were the types of questions repeated in their heads. Xin Ci assumed it had been futile to challenge the Emperor now.

The Emperor mentally grumbled seeing everyone bowing and leaving the royal chamber to start preparing for the enormous event. He mused, searching through his memory. It was a long search, but he believed that it might be after his last visit to Prince Yunlan that he decided to exclude Prince of the Wind from The Golden Throne.

The Emperor was fairly certain that he would have recalled something queer happened to him while meeting Shen Wei, he couldn't remember anything after he left the Royal residency of Crown Prince Yunlan. Only one thing kept throbbing inside his mind which was to make someone else as the next Emperor.

Shen Wei finished cleaning his highness' body before he put on new clothes for him. He combed his hair delicately before putting the comb aside and giving his Prince a look of sadness bearing pain and longing. He was wishing for Zhao Yunlan to wake up fast before he was to be beheaded. He had this strange feeling about Princess Wang plotting something.
