Five Nights at Freddy's! Sitter!
The phone rang as Gina hurried to answer it, making sure not to drop her towel in the process. She tried to make sure she didn't drip any water on the floor as she went, she didn't want to stain it. Finally, she found her phone sitting on her bedside table where she had left it.
"Hello?" She answered, trying not to sound out of breath.
"Hello? I'm looking for Gina." Asked a female voice on the other end.
"Speaking."
"Oh, hello. I was hoping you might be available to watch over my daughter for a day. My husband and I need to be at work early and we can't get home until after midnight." The woman explained.
"Of course, I'd be happy to. What time?" Asked Gina.
"We need you here by 6:35 tomorrow. I'll send you the address a little later. Can you make it?" Asked the woman. She sounded like she was in the middle of work already.
"No problem, I'll see you tomorrow." Says Gina as the woman hung up after she said yes.
Gina quickly returned to her shower as she didn't want to risk dripping anymore water on the light brown cream colored carpet. When she got out and got some clothes on, she flopped down on her bed and opened her phone to check if the woman had sent the address. Nothing yet.
Gina sighed, she was excited. She giggled, was it normal for babysitters to be excited about watching over someone else's child? Maybe, maybe not. For her, she loved to care for children. She liked it when she was able to get in on their adventures. Like taking a seat at a tea party, or blasting off to the moon to explore it. She loved to let her imagination run with the mood.
Her phone buzzed, she opened it and saw a text from her friend, Sophie. She went to look at the text and she grinned.
"Hey bestie, I got us tickets to the concert tomorrow. You in?" Read the text.
"Can't. Got another babysitting job tomorrow." Replied Gina.
"Again? Why do you take these jobs? What do you gain from doing this?" Asked her friend, annoyed.
"Well for one, money. Two, I guess I just like to play with kids. You know I didn't really have much of a childhood when I was a kid." Says Gina. She thought back to a time when she was about 6 and at school. She was on the playground and was looking for someone to play with.
She went to some of the kids playing in a tiny plastic replica of a castle; they were playing knights or something. She wanted in, but they said they had enough people. She went to the jungle gym, but there were so many kids on it already that there wasn't a place for Gina to get on it. She even tried the tether ball, but she was worried that the ball would hit her in the face. She was too scared to go up to anyone and ask if she could join them in their playtime. She shouldn't have been.
"I wasted my childhood in fear of not asking to play with other kids." Gina said to herself.
"Ugh, fine. You're loose, I'll just take Andy with me instead." Texted Sophie. She snickered, she found it funny how their names almost rhymed.
Gina sighed, she did want to go to the concert, but she didn't want to let down the parents she promised to watch over their kid. She replied with a single "Have fun", and went to make something for dinner.

As Gina drove to the address she had been given the other night, she passed a playground. It reminded her of her school days, how she wasted her time being by herself and not playing with other children. The light turned green, and she continued on her way.
