Simon

They seemed to be everywhere, in every shadow.

The darkness quickly surrounded us, without warning or reason. The two monsters, no, the two demons that thrived in it, let out ear-piercing screams filled with sorrow and hatred.

I ran, sprinting towards what I hoped to be the way out of this horrible nightmare.

"Wait! Simon!" someone called.

I ignored it; the pleas, the cries. Getting away from the demons was my only concern.

Then the voices came, hammering their lies into my skull, trying to penetrate my mind.

Don't run, they screamed, they can, they will lead you to salvation.

"GET OUT OF MY HEAD, YOU LYING SONS OF BITCHES!" I cried, dropping to my knees, clasping my head.

I clawed my scalp in an attempt to pull the voices out, but I soon started to realize that it was no use.

You can't hide.

I looked up from the floor, to see one of the two, 7-foot tall demons standing only a mere foot away from me.

"No, no, no, no, no," I started to sob," NO, NO, NO, GET AWAY, GET AWAY!"

It gripped my head with an unnatural amount of force, and dug its long, protruding claws into my skull. Its eyeless, emotionless face caused my spine to quaver, and sent a permanent, never-ending nightmare into the deep depths of my brain.

Dark red blood spurted from the sides of my head as the monster clasped tighter and tighter.

I cried and sobbed and screamed as the pressure generated around my entire head grew greater and greater.

"JUST KILL ME!" I cried again, desperate for the nightmare to end.

I couldn't take it anymore, the voices, the lies, the pain, the misery, I couldn't handle it anymore.

As if in response, the demon screeched with fury and anger, and opened it's saliva-covered jaws.

Then all was black, and my nightmare was finally over.
