XIAO TENSELY ADJUSTS THE TIE around his neck as he approaches the large path leading to the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor's main entrance. The massive polished wood doors are propped open for easy entrance, allowing the crowds of people scattered outside to make their way inside the building. The boy glances up at the sky, and sees that the sun has nearly disappeared behind the skyline. All that's left in its wake is a twilight of beautiful maroons and velvets with stars peeking out from the expanse above.
It's not that he's feeling nervous about tonight (well, not nervous for himself at least) but rather, unamused by the fact that he has to shuffle through a crowd of strangers for god knows how long until he is able to find Hu Tao. He wonders how she'll be tonight. There isn't a doubt in his mind that she won't do well, he's just worried about how much the stress might affect her. She isn't the type to let her worries visibly affect her. If anything, when the inconveniences do affect her, she simply suppressed them, which he knows is far from good for her to do, as it will only cause the negative feelings to build up and eventually explode one way or another. Oh, how he worries for her – but he knows she'll be just fine. She always is, he just can't help but look out for her. Either way, better reason to find her sooner than later.
As Xiao nears the entrance, he starts to see just how many people had shown up tonight for the banquet. It's a lot, to put it simply. The foyer looked jam-packed with a bustling crowd, making it nearly impossible to locate one person out of the entire crowd. Now that he thinks about it, it probably would've been a good idea to plan a spot for them to meetup at.
As he steps through the doors, he continues to scan the area with purpose, keeping his vigilant golds on the lookout for a head of brown hair. Where is he even supposed to go? The last time he had been to the parlor was... well.. Never, so right now he's completely clueless as to where he's going.
After a couple moments of standing around awkwardly and scanning the crowd, he decides to just head towards where everyone else is headed – the other set of huge doors that had been propped open across the gigantic space. Xiao slowly maneuvers his way through the crowd, trying his hardest not to step on anyone or get pushed over. He actually recognizes a few of the faces around him, some of them more familiar than others, but individuals he knows all the same.
The lady who owns the coffee shop right next to his favorite music store is bantering happily with one of his neighbors. One of his classmates, Scaramouche, appeared to be bickering with one of the girls in the astronomy club – Mona. Xiao even spots his friend Aether, along with the boy's twin, Lumine, chatting away with Beidou and Kazuha. The three looking as if they're trying to stop the woman from grabbing too many glasses of tequila from a nearby serving table.
