Jasmine POV

I just got my orders and now I have to tell Steve that I leave tomorrow for the 107th as a frontline nurse. Honestly, I am worried about leaving him as he tends to be reckless, gets into fights quite frequently, and has tried 4 times now to get into the army. But I'm even more worried that I will never have the chance to tell him I have been in love with him for years. I'm on my way now to meet him at the theater in my uniform.

When I arrive of course he has gotten into a fight so I yell, "Hey! Why don't you pick on someone your own size?" Of course, the guy turns around and says "This doesn't concern a dame like yourself." I naturally respond by kneeing the guy in the balls and a punch to the jaw. The guy runs away and I turn to Steve as he asks, "You got your orders?" "Yep. Front line nurse for the 107th I ship out tomorrow. Come on we got a date tonight and he's bringing his sister along." "What did you tell her about me?" "Only the good things."

We arrive at The World's Fair for our double date. We see Tommy and his little sister who looked bored and would rather be anywhere but here. We walk up to the stage that Howard Stark was walking out onto the stage. He was showing off his latest invention the flying car which broke down in the middle of the presentation.

I turn around to tell Steve that we should go dancing he is nowhere to be found. I knew that there was a recruiting place nearby and as soon as I approached I see Steve. I lightly punch his shoulder and say "Come on. You are kind of missing the point of a double date. We are taking them out dancing." Steve stops and says "You go ahead and I'll catch up with you." I turn back to him saying "You really going to do this again?" Steve shrugs and says "Well it is a fair. I am gonna to try my luck." "As who Steve from Ohio? They'll catch you or worse they will actually take you." I argue back. "Look I know you dont think I can do this." Steve says trying to reason with me. "This isnt a back alley Steve. Its war" I say still trying to change his mind. "I know its war" Steve says
"Why are you so keen to fight? There are so many important jobs" I say. "What do you want me to do? Collect scrap metal in my little red wagon?" Steve asks. "Yes. Why not?" "I'm not going to sit in a factory, Bucky. Bucky come on. There are men laying down their lives. I got no right to do any less then them. That's what you don't understand. This isn't about me." Steve says while still being as stubborn as ever. "Right. 'Cause you got not to prove." And I turn around when I hear Tommy ask, "Hey Jazzy are we going dancing?" "Yes we are." I reply and while I start to walk away I say to Steve, "Don't do anything stupid until I get back." "How can I? You're taking all the stupid with you." Making me walk back to him and saying, "You're a punk" I give him one last hug as he replies "Jerk" As I walk away for the final time Steve says "Be careful. Don't win the war until I get there." I playfully salute him before going dancing with Tommy and his little sister.
