Gastón and Nina entered Jam & Roller, holding hands and smiling. They just got back from their date. They went to the movies together, it was one of their many dates over the summer. They went to see a movie that was a book first. It was one of their favorte pastimes, judging how good of a movie they made out of a book.
Gastón knew that when he got together with Nina, they'd have fun together but he was still surprised just how much fun they had together. They've only been dating for a few weeks but the more he talked with Nina, the more it felt like he's known her for years.
He never gets tired of talking with her, every date, he learns something more about her. He knows he's lucky he found her and he couldn't be more happier right now. Even if they were arguing about the movie they watched.
"There's no way that happened in the books. I'm sure of it." Nina said as they walked into the cafeteria.
"I'm pretty sure I've read it." He answered her with a smile. He couldn't help it, he loved how passionate she was about these things.
Nina was ready to give her arguments until she saw Luna pacing back and forth in the back, constantly looking at her phone. She seemed upset and Gastón and Nina looked at each other with a frown, wondering what's going on. They walked over to her to ask what's wrong.
Luna didn't seem to hear the couple approaching and doesn't look away from her phone. She muttered: "Why haven't I heard from him?"
"What's going on, Luna?" Nina said softly, grabbing her friend's attention.
"Oh, hey, guys", Luna answered, "It's just, I haven't heard from Matteo and now is the time we usually talk to each other on the phone and I'm worried something's wrong. Have you heard from him, Gastón?"
"Not really, he just texted me this morning but I'm sure nothing's wrong. You talk to each other every day. It's normal if he can't talk every day, he could be busy." Gastón reassured Luna. Seeing the relationship blossom between Luna and Matteo was definitely interesting to witness this summer, even though they were miles apart. They seemed like they've been together for years.
Gastón also talked to Matteo regularly since he left, though not as much as Luna and Matteo did but he knew that even though they were having a long distance relationship, Matteo never seemed happier. They seemed to talk for hours often and Gastón could tell it was killing Matteo to be so far away from here when he finally had everything he could wish for.
"Maybe you're right, maybe he's just busy" Luna really tried hard to convince herself. "I can't wait until he comes back. It would be so much easier to talk to him then."
Gastón's reassuring smile dropped into a frown and Nina noticed which left her worried if he knows something they don't.
"I just wish I could talk to him, right now. He seemed a little down last night." Luna went back to pacing and Gastón tried to find a way to distract and not let her worry.
Gastón and Luna became good friends after he started dating Nina, it was a suprising yet fun friendship.
"I'm sure he'll call you when he can. Instead of waiting for a phone call, we could start up those skating lessons for Nina again." He suggested, it was one of the things he bonded over with Luna, trying to get Nina to skate again. It was a challenge they loved facing together.
After he said this, he looked at Nina a little pleadingly, asking with his eyes for to go along with it and Nina immediately understood he was trying to cheer Luna up in his own way.
The fact that he's trying to do this, allows her to agree reluctantly: "Uhm.. yeah, Gastón and I have been talking about it and I think it would be great to get over my fear of falling, you know."
