A/N : finally posting something ! Some parts are sort of rushed so sorry about that 💧 also this chapter is really really long

It was 1 in the afternoon. Wilbur was still cleaning up the mess he made the other night. It was only now that he realized how much damage he did to his apartment. He broke the flower vase his father gave him, spilling it all over his floor, broke a family photo and ripped paperwork he had to give to his boss.

As he swept the dirt of the flower pot off the wet floor, the phone rang. He rolled his eyes, wanting to finish what he started. He picked up the phone.

"Hello ?" He asked with a hint of annoyance.

"Wilbur, hey ! How are you ?"

He froze. Once he heard the voice, all desire to clean the rest of his mess went away. His irritation about answering the phone was replaced by excitement.

"Quackity ?" He asked rather surprised that he would call him. "I... am doing good ! Why are you calling me right now ?"

The man on the other side laughed, a point of nervousness in his voice.

"Oh, well, I don't need a reason to call a friend, right ?"

Wilbur knew that he was lying. He knew would never call him without a reason. He still held on to the small chance that he was wrong.

"Yeah..." he said unsure

"Well actually, there's things I didn't have the chance to speak about the other day at the cabaret." He shifted his tone to a softer one. " if we think about it, umm... we didn't really talk about anything that day... or at least I don't remember." He took a pause "So, what if I invited you to my place to really... reconnect ?"

The proposition immediately caught him off guard. His excitement was building up inside of him.

"Really ?!" He said enthusiastically.

The loud sound coming from the other side of the line surprised Quackity.

"Y...yeah" he said immediately regretting saying that.

"When ?"

"Well, what time are you free ?"

Wilbur looked behind at the state of his apartment.

"Maybe in an hour ? Is that ok ?"

"Yeah, fine with me ! I'll see you later, then."

"See you la-"

Before he could even finish his sentence, the other man hung up. He sighed. He couldn't believe he was going to see him again, even after what he said at the cabaret. He continued believing he was going to ask him something. After all, they weren't on the best terms and he knew that he wouldn't want to see him if he didn't need him.

But, Wilbur didn't care. He was going to see the "love of his life". He didn't care if he was only using him for his personal gain. He was willing to do the impossible if that meant he could get him to love him back.

Later, at Quackity's apartment

Wilbur was waiting impatiently for Quackity to open the door. He couldn't contain his excitement and was all over the place. He made an effort to look his best and he even bought him flowers to make a good impression.
