A week after the incident, Wilbur finally decided to visit Quackity. The guilt he had felt that day had been inhabiting him since and he thought that apologizing was the best option to not only save his relationship but to save his newly revived dancing career.
At the moment, he was exiting the flower shop that was just at the corner of where Quackity lived, a bouquet in his hand. He knew that the flowers wouldn't change anything but still, it was a nice touch to add in his apology.
Inside the bouquet he had also hidden a little surprise that he thought he would appreciate. The 'little surprise' in question wasn't a good idea and he knew it but at that point, he would've done absolutely anything to have his forgiveness. He also did it because he was madly in love with him and he would sacrifice everything he had just for him.
It wasn't long before he reached the stairs that led to his friend's apartment. As he looked at them, a knot was starting to form in his stomach. He thought about what he was going to say to him. Suddenly, he wasn't sure about going to his apartment anymore. After all, what could he say to atleast make the situation a little better ? All the times he apologized in the past, he was insincere or he did it just to get what he wanted.
But this time, it was different. He genuinely felt bad. Maybe it was because the person he needed to apologize to was Quackity and not somebody else. Just that fact was enough to make him somewhat nervous, scared even.
He was scared that he wouldn't forgive him and that he would abandon the contract. The truth was that he didn't just do it for a chance to gain back Quackity's trust but he also did it to secure his place in the competition. He really wanted to dance again. That one night at the cabaret really revived his love for the art form and he would do the impossible just to go back on that stage again.
Wilbur took a deep breath, calming himself down a little bit, before climbing up the stairs.
He took another deep breath once he stood in front of the door.
And knocked.
He stayed there for a few seconds, still waiting for an answer. Realizing that probably nobody had heard the sound, he knocked again. But this time it wasn't as long before he got an answer. The person who opened the door was a man. But not the one he expected to see at Quackity's door.
The man in question had curly brown hair and was wearing a multi coloured jacket. Urgh. It was none other than Karl, one of Quackity's soon to be fiancé. When their eyes met, Wilbur did everything in his power to not let his face get twisted with anger and disgust. Just the idea of him doing anything in his beloved's apartment infuriated him. But he knew he needed to keep his cool for when he would talk to Quackity. After all, if he showed any signs of aggression towards him or Sapnap, Quackity could simply rip that contract to shreds right in front of him and leave him to rot, never trusting him ever again. He knew that. It was the thing that broke off their friendship in the first place.
So instead, he simply forced a smile onto his lips, masking his true emotions and putting on an act, the thing he did for such a long time .
"Oh ! Wilbur ! What are you doing here ?" The shorter brunette asked, visibly surprised by the brit's visit
"Well, you see, I'm here to see Quackity." He said with a smile. He looked over the other man's shoulder, searching for the one he was looking for. "Is he here ?"
