Casey's POV

11:54am

I stand at the door where Sherry told me to meet her. I had snuck away without anyone noticing for the first time. If there is one thing I can be good at it's being invisible: hard to believe I know. Sherry enters the room slowly not even looking my way until she passed by me. She gave me a glance and I begin to follow her a few paces behind to look like I'm not following her.

When we made it to where no one was around we walked next to one another quietly whispering the plan. She was going to distract the guard before they lock the door so he'll forgot to and leave it unlocked. Then I will sneak him out of this place and maybe just maybe I can either hide him or find a way out of here. I of course thought of the consequences; what if we get caught? What will he do if we escape?

We hid behind a wall waiting to hear the door close. Right as it did Sherry ran out pretending to be out of breath. I peaked over to see the guard quickly come to her side wondering what was happening. As far as I can tell the door was still unlocked and the keys were in his pocket. I can't risk going for the keys so I'll have to trust her to get him away.

"Thank God I found you! I think there is another rat in my room and I just can't be in there until it's dead or gone. Please help me look?" She batted her eyes and he nodded desperately. "Let's hurry!" She took him the other way. When they disappeared around the corner I quickly went for the cell door. I hesitantly pushed it open letting light flood inside the room. I smiled seeing him sitting there alive. He covered his eyes unaware that it was me in the doorway.

"Daryl," I sigh making his face turn to confusion.

"You need to get out of here before they find you, Casey. They'll hurt you." He shook his head.

"We need to get you out of here." I whispered putting out my hand to him. He sighed but still took my hand getting up. "Oh and I brought you this, sorry it's a little smooshed." I handed him half a sandwich that I put into my pocket.

"You are a godsend." He inhaled the sandwich as we snuck through the halls stopping if we heard any footsteps or talking.

I have seen Daryl in some of his weak moments. Like when he told us Merle was dead; he tried to not show emotion but I could see the pain in his eyes. But I have never seen him like this. Any slight sound sent him on edge. I reached for his arm at one point and he flinched, jerking his arm away from me. I'm not sure what they've done to him... but whatever is I will make them all pay.

I really thought we could make it out.

The first red flag was as we turned a corner there were footsteps so we stopped. We waited for a few moments before I heard footsteps coming from behind. I quickly threw my fists up but relaxed when I realized it was just Sherry. I was confused to what she was doing back here. She was shaking her head with slightly teary eyes.

"This was a bad idea. He needs to go back, both of you need to go back! Whatever he has done to you, Daryl, there is more. There is always more. And if you don't turn back now it'll be worse." She whispered but I knew we were too far and Daryl had no intentions of turning back.

With no words spoken Daryl quickly left and I just shook my head before following behind. We got to a door that lead outside. Daryl's eyes instantly found the bikes but I knew that it was too easy. We needed a plan because I'm sure there are men somewhere around here watching. But before I could even speak he was running out the door. I tried to motion him back but he was already at the bikes. That's when the men came out.

"Shit." I mumbled hiding behind the wall. Sorry, Daryl. The men surrounded Daryl then I heard the whistling of Negan.

"Are you pissing your pants yet?" He asked Daryl.
