A Hidden Love (Vi x Reader)

Chapter 3 1/2: Some Mysteries are Better Left Unsolved

The next day we all decide to head over to a old place we used to hangout at. I think it was an old arcade but was abandoned after the battle on the bridge. Vi and I found it like two years ago and tried to keep it our little secret but Mylo followed us one day and told the others. 

"Remind me why we bother with this dump?" he says. I watch him pick his nose from across the room and scoff. He grabs one of the paintball guns on the counter and leans on it. I continue wrapping Vi's hands so she can put her boxing gloves on. She smiles at me and grabs my own hands, rubbing my knuckles. I smile back at her, finishing her wrapping to. She grabs the gloves and puts them on then turns to Mylo. "Vander said to lay low. Enforcers never come down here, so this is as good a place as any." she says. 

I turn and sit on the couch next to the machine Vi is about to begin to punching. "Oh, what's the matter Mylo? You worried Powder's gonna beat you again?" says Claggor. As he says this I hear Powder clanking around behind the counter Mylo is leaning on. I chuckle and look back at Vi, noticing her looking for the power on the machine.

"Hey, if she didn't keep fixing these things, I wouldn't keep missing.". As he says that Powder stands and connects two cords, turning all the machines behind her on. He grabs the paintball gun in front of him and starts shooting, but misses almost every one. I laugh at him and chuck a ball at the back of his head, making him almost fall forward and miss even more shots. He looks around at me and chucks it back but I catch it. 

Vi continues punching the machine and I can hear her labored breathing. "You guys know I wouldn't take you on a job you couldn't handle right?" she says, making us all look at her. I see her glance at me over her shoulder then to Powder, making me question myself. I shouldn't but the look she gave me almost made me feel small.

"Are you kidding? That was the best job we've ever done. Maybe just don't bring Powder next time." says Mylo, yet again injecting himself into the conversation when he isn't wanted. Powder doesn't deserve the things he says at all. 

Powder walks across the counter and grabs another one of the paintball guns. She slowly lifts it up to the machine and starts shooting, not missing a single one. I begin clapping and Mylo glares at me, making me clap even louder. Vi looks over her shoulder again, laughing at my clapping and Mylo's irritation. After Powder stops her game, she walks over towards the windows facing the streets. She crosses her arms and moves her head forward. "Hey guys you should see this-" she begins before the window shatters with a body flying through. We all stare at each other and look back outside, seeing enforcers.

"Search them." says one of them. We all look between each other and back into the closest wall. I look over at Powder and notice her already staring at Vi. She holds her bag, and I notice the blue glowing crystals inside. Vi and I look between each other and nod, making Powder look back at the man right in front of her. Vi yells run and we all begin attempting to get away. Vi gets caught up with an enforcer who tries to grab her from behind and I grab one of the chairs nearby and smack him from behind. I grab Vi's hand and begin running again. We see Mylo trying to shoot at two of them but just continue running. 

We start running out of the place and into an alley with Powder and Claggor following close behind. Not to long after we turn a corner Mylo also makes his way back to us. The enforcers keep almost catching us but luckily we've had our fair share running from them. We hear them yelling get them every other second but quickly we see a latter drop and begin climbing up without question. Claggor goes first then Vi tells me to go up. I start climbing and see little man show up at the top, making me feel one hundred times better. I begin climbing even faster and feel Powder right behind me. Claggor makes it to the top and starts helping me up along with Ekko. I get to the top and reach behind me to grab Powder's hand. 

Powder makes it to the top with Mylo coming right after and finally Vi. I help her up and puts one arm around me and one around Powder but still flipping off the enforcers behind us. "You need to hide those crystals." she says and I laugh. "Yeah no shit.".

We walk into the Last Drop and notice an argument is beginning between some of the customers and Vander, making me stay at the door to our hangout and listen. Vi stands behind me with her ear facing them to. But when we both turn to walk back in after talking with each other about fighting, we notice Ekko looking off into the distance suspiciously. We both turn our heads to look at him.

"Spill it Ekko." Vi starts and I grab his ear to pull him closer to us. "Um. Oh, ok. Well, um, Vander's gotta deal with the enforcers.". I almost push him into the wall myself. "What?" I say, pulling him into the room with Vi shutting the door behind us. 

He begins to tell us all about what he heard the night before in Benzo's shop and the enforcer Vander was talking to. Apparently it's an older women and Vander and her seem to have a good relationship. We all take seats after he finishes and start contemplating what that could mean for us. Vi sits next to me and this time I put my arm around her and give her a hug. These past few days have been stressful on all of us but especially her. We hear the door open on the floor above us but continue talking about how we should take care of this deal. But then, the monkey that warns us to hide starts clapping his symbols and we all go silent.

This chapter is absolute trash but I needed to get another one out since I haven't since Saturday. I could've definitely done better and I will once Christmas break starts but right now I'm just so tired so I hope you understand.
