A Hidden Love (Vi x Reader)

Chapter 3 2/2: Some Mysteries are Better Left Unsolved

The monkey stops making noise as we all sit silently on the roof. Vi is right next to me and pulling me in closer to her to where she almost had me sitting on top of her. She holds her finger to her mouth when I turn to look at her and points to Powder. I glance over, and see her hands already slipping on the bar she's holding. Before I can do anything, an enforcer walks into the room. 

He scours the room, throwing things out of their original places. He looks under a bed Mylo was hiding under, but turns around. Then suddenly he looks back under, and Mylo's gone. He slowly makes his way up to the roof also and the enforcer continues looking through the room. He makes his way to the opposite side he came in from and looks through a shelf with bobbles on it. I look back to Powder, her slipping even more than before. I hold my breath as the man below us walks back towards the door. He takes one last look with his flashlight, and opens the door to leave. One more look over his shoulder and he's out the door. And on good timing because Powder falls almost immediately after he closes the door. 

I jump down right after and help her up. Vi jumps down right after and grabs my arm to pull me into a hug. I turn to face her and do go into the hug, burying my face into the crook of her neck. I pull Powder in to and she grabs onto my shirt. 

After a couple minutes, we hear stomping on the steps. When the door opens, it's Vander and he walks towards Vi and I. He pulls both of us into a hug. "Are you all ok?" he asks, but especially looks into Vi's eyes. I look at her as well, noticing the rage on her face. "No, we're not ok. They almost saw Powder, what if they took her?" she says, almost screaming at him. I grab her hand and pull her to look into my eyes. She looks and I notice a tear in her eye, making me put a hand to her cheek. 

"Nobody's taking any of you. I'd never let that happen.". Vi steps away and puts her hand to her forehead. "It's already happening. You heard him, they won't stop. We need to fight back.". Vi punches the wall and the room shakes, making Powder gasp. I walk over to her and pull her into a hug, and she grabs my shirt to cover her eyes. 

"And if you won't, I will." continues Vi. Mylo and Claggor hold their breath because they've never really seen Vi this passionate about anything. I mean yeah, she's gotten mad in front of them before but not like this. Fortunately I've heard this before so I'm not as surprised. We talk about everything to each other and sometimes she gets passionate. I can also feel Powder shaking, making me start playing with her hair.

Vander looks at the wall his daughter just punched and shakes his head. "I've heard this kind of talk before. Come with me." he says. Vi looks at me and I nod for her to go. They walk out of the room and I pick up Powder. She makes her body go limp in my arms and I carry her to her room. I set her down on her bed and she goes under the covers. 

"Screw it." I say under my bed and climb into the bed on top which just so happens to be Vi's. I've been in this bed before obviously but this time is different, almost like it's more cold. Like it's been empty for days. I climb under the covers and lay my head down, almost falling asleep immediately. 

Maybe an hour later I feel someone climb in next to me. I smell whoever it is and make the connection that it's Vi. She lays down next to me and I wrap my arms around her midsection, making her shiver. She puts her arms around me to and pulls me in closer and I fall asleep again not to long after. 

I wake up hours later, to where it's night already. I sit up and realize I'm all alone in the room. Powder's bunny is gone along with her which makes me feel better. At least something was comforting her while I was asleep. I jump down off of the bed and head out the bedroom door up to the bar. As I walk up I notice it must be closed already since there's no talking or music. I open the door to it and see Powder at the bar, drinking some juice out of a cup. She's holding her bunny, making my heart melt just a little. She looks up to me after I shut the door behind me and I walk towards the bar. 

"What's up kiddo?" I ask her. She looks at me and gives a sad smile. "Just sitting here. Vi left not to long ago.". I stop what I was doing behind the counter and look at her again. I give her a fake smile and grab a glass and rag, beginning to wipe the inside with the cloth. "Do you know where she went?" I ask, trying to hold back the lump in my throat. "Dunno. Vander just left too.". I drop the glass to the floor. Vi wouldn't leave again without telling one of us. Powder gasps and runs around the counter, beginning to pick up glass. I swat her away and pick up the pieces she didn't have in her hand already. 

I throw the glass into the trash nearby and run down the stairs and into  my room. I grab knives and a hat and stuff both into a bag on my bed. I put it on my back and run out the door, telling Mylo and Claggor to watch Powder. I run out of the bar and into the streets and following along the trail of footprints I see that match Vi's footsteps. 

As I approach the place Vi's footsteps lead to, which by the way happens to be Benzo's, I notice all the blood on the floor. I get closer to the door and look down for the first time. Oh my god. Benzo's on the floor dead along with an enforcer. I put my hand to my mouth and look to the side, seeing Ekko standing there in shock. He looks at me and points inside the shop. I walk to the door and there's silence.

Babes I actually did it. I got this chapter out soon. Thanks for the info on my other authors note and you'll see why I needed it later. I'm not reading this one over either because I don't want to completely redo it if I don't like one thing. Anyways, I love you guys <3!! Bye!!
