Cale looked expressionless in his hands that are drenched in blood, then to the bodies that laid lifeless around him. His eyes chaotic as all he could see were black and red.
"Choi Han..." The redhead uttered as he looked at the raven in front of him.
Choi Han's face kept overlapping with Choi Jung Soo's in Cale perspective, both bleeding as they blocked the incoming attack directed to Cale.
"...Cale-nim...everything...is okay...now..."
Nothing is okay.
"Don't talk. You'll be fine...you will..."
Cale decapitated the last remaining hunter that stabbed Choi Han. Different hues of soft feathers fluttered and landed to the bloodied ground, it's divine look suddenly getting smeared in the red ground like it fell out of grace.
Just like Cale.
The pair of wings flickered lightly behind Cale's back. The bones of his wings showing themselves as only a few of the feathers remained. He plucked a feather then clasp in his hands, offering a silent command to it. The feather then turned to a recovery potion and poured it to Choi Han's open wound.
It didn't suffice as Cale was about to pluck another set of feather when the raven stopped him.
"Don't...Cale-nim...it's already...too late..."
The redhead was about to scream at him for saying such nonsense things, but the next thing he knew, the Choi Han in his arms fell limp and cold as the last blood spurted out of his abdomen.
Choi Han is dead.
Raon is dead.
On and Hong are dead.
Alberu is dead.
His family is dead.
Everyone he knew is dead except for him.
Cale wanted to rip off the pair of wings attached in his back.
'What's the point?'
What is the point of being a God when you can't do anything to stop the annihilation of everyone you knew?
What is the point of being a God when you have too many restrictions because you fell out of grace?
'God of Creation? Don't make me laugh.'
Even if he would recreate people using his divine powers, it would never be the same.
They're already dead. And no matter how much feather he pluck to recreate a shell for them, their souls might have been gone. Even if Cale command them to act like the people he's grown attached to, he knew he would only be fooling himself.
Cale couldn't cry, so the sky cried for him.
He couldn't scream, so the thunder bellowed for him.
He couldn't take the pain, so the heavens took it from him.
The God of Death looked solemnly at his old friend, then he once again broke the rules for him.
He would do anything for the person who he once called a friend and confidant, even if it was another soul.
Death had given him another chance to recreate Cale's life once again, years before the hunters showed themselves in the surface of the world and after the God of Despair had once again sealed.
