   I wake up to Papi knocking on my door. "Mija come on, I need to get to the market early if I want to get the best vegetables and fruits, not to mention the animals food" he states. My eyes open wide as I stumbled out of bed, heading to the shower and taking, by far, one of the fastest showers I have ever taken. Putting on a white top with a beautiful long red skirt, the patterns of different animals at the bottom of it. I quickly rush to the kitchen as I watch Mami make arepas, shooing off Papi's worried comments.

   I smile slowly approaching a plate with an arepa, grabbing it and stuffing it in my mouth. "Morning Mona~" Mami says with a smile. Papi chuckled at this as I finish swallowing the arepa. I was about to reach for another one, till Papi stole it from me. "Ok let's get going these groceries aren't going to buy themselves~" Papi teased taking a bite of the arepa he stole from me and walks towards the front door. Mami laughing at my mouth wide open in shock. "Your going to catch flies in your mouth like that hija, now hurry, he will leave you if you don't get to the wagon now"

With Mamis helpful words, I quickly run out of the house and jump into the back of Papi's wagon. Watching as Petals our donkey pulled us through the forest. I watched the forest entertained me, making it vines follow our wagon. At times making its leaves fall down on us. I snickered as they landed on my hair. Papi looks over his shoulder "So why so curious about my old home town hm?" He asks, turning to look back in front of us. "Oh you know, just being a curious cat~" I teased as I leaned forward allowing leopard ears and a tail sprout out from my body. The tail wagging slowly behind me as my father looked for a second and laughed.

   "Very funny kitty cat, but let's make some ground rules if you want to come here again...deal?" He asks as I nod making the ears and tail disappear instantly. "Number one, do not use your powers. Even if there are others in the town with gifts, do not for a second let them know you have a gift. Number two, you're only allowed to use your gift, if you are in danger. That's the only time I'll allow it and Number three, stay close to me. Got it?" Papi says sternly as I nod after. "Si, Papi. I heard you loud and clear!!" I stated as I put my hand to my forehead, giving him a salute.

   Right after that the forest trail ends, the vines stopped following us. Retreating back into the forest. Coming across the small town my eyes widen in amazement. "It's all so colorful!" I state as we start to ride in. "Hey Mateo! Welcome back! Got any goodies for the town?" A Señor asked, Papi slowed down the wagon as the man walked next to our wagon on Papi's side. I stayed quiet as I watched Papi interact with this man. "Sadly no, I'm here with my daughter on a groceries trip" Papi states as the man now looks at me. I smile brightly and wave at him. "Ah I see! I didn't know you had a daughter Mateo! I'm Arturo, and you are?"

I stick out my hand as he grabs it to shake it. "Y/n! Nice to meet you Señor Arturo!" I say as he laughs at me, letting my hand go. "Ah no need to be so polite Arturo is fine. Welcome to the town! Must be so boring being up in the forest with just your Papi and Mami hm?" He states as I shrug. "I have the biggest backyard so I'm not complaining" With that comment Arturo laughs. "You have a funny daughter Mateo, she must have gotten it from Valentina." He teased as Papi smirked. I notice now that Papi had gotten off the wagon and tied Petal to a post. I quickly hop off the wagon ready to run off and explore till Papi grabbed me by the back of my shirt.
