Chapter 10: Fireworks (Final)

-Dec. 31st 11:30PM Times Square-

Even though I've lived in New York my whole life and have never lived far from Times Square, I've never attended the ball drop. I mean it's like a New Yorkers right of passage, right? You would of thought my parents would've brought me since my dad proposed to my mom on New Years Eve and my family is extremely sentimental but no. Maybe they never got a chance to though. But that's okay, I'm here now. With Perry, Lafontaine, Kirsch and Danny who still bicker like toddlers but that's just trivial stuff. Most importantly Im here with my wonderful girlfriend Carmilla. She's wearing her new boots, jacket and necklace I got her. She practically hasn't taken them off, but I can say the same for the bracelet she got me and at the moment Im wearing her old leather jacket I basically begged for.

Which, thank god she gave it yo without a fight because on a freezing night like this, it is my saving grace. But having a nice warm lovely girlfriend to cuddle up to definitely helps fight the cold. We are glued to each other's sides, she has an arm around my shoulder and I have one around her waist as we watch the live performance as the clock ticks down to midnight.

Currently performing is Paramore, which Carmilla won't admit but they are her favorite band but she try's to cover that up with Slipknot and old punk rock like the Black Flag and The Sex Pistols and she actually has a soft spot for Brand New. I can see it, angsty band and a very completely angsty girl. Back to Paramore though, they are performing "Where The Lines Overlap" from 'Brand New Eyes'. Once the song wrapped up and after I (forcefully) made Carmilla dance with me, Fall Out Boy walked onto the stage.

They immediately began playing "Thnks fr th Mmrs" which Carmilla mumbled "fitting". Which, it is. A year has come and gone, a lot of things happened even though I can barely remember anything, probably due to the multiple sugar crashes which are tied with hangovers in terms of how bad they actually are. You lose everything especially a sense of time.

-11:50PM-

Ten more minutes and it'll officially be a new year. It's exciting and nerve wracking at the same time. The downfall of being human, we can't tell the future. If you ask me whatever God could of at least given us something as far as immortal ability. Carmilla would argue that my immortal ability is being able to consume mass amounts of sugar. According to her it, "boarders the pathological of how much sugar I consume". I mean I can't say she's exactly wrong. I digest enough sugar to fuel a hundred kindergarteners but what are you gonna do.

"So cupcake, ready for a new year?" Carmilla asked, placing her mouth near my ear, practically shouting so I would be able to hear her.

"Only if I'm graced with your company." I shouted back.

"And I'm the snarky one, pft. You have everyone fooled Hollis." Carmilla teased as she hugged my tightly , rubbing her cheek against mine in a cat like manner that makes me smile from cheek to cheek.

"I probably picked it up from you." I retorted,

"Touché cutie, touché." Carmilla replied placing a kiss to my cheek.

-11:59PM-

There are now seconds left until it's 2015. Again, exciting and nerve wracking.

Everyone is now counting down, "10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, Happg New Year!". I was half taken by surprise when Carmilla grabbed me rather roughly kissing me like I've never been kissed before. I mean if I could liquify, then count me as a puddle right now. I feel like an ice cube dropped into a pit in hell, immediate water.

From beside us as we continued to kiss, I heard Lafontaine shout, "HOLY SHIT, CARMILLA AND LAURA ARE ON A KISS CAM!" Carmilla and I broke the kiss to look at the big screen to see us, i laughed and pulled Carmilla in for another big kiss, to which the crowd roared into a cheer. I was smiled into the kiss and so did Carmilla. Since are lips were both pulled into a right smile, the kiss broke and we leaned against each other's foreheads with my hands on her shoulders and her hands on my hips, holding me tightly.
