One week before the battle of longtable 

Somewhere in the  Reach, Jaime Lannister stood behind the king, his hand on the palm of his sword, as the situation at longtable was being explained by one of the knights sent by Randyll tarly.

Jaime could not help but anticipate the coming battle and the chance for glory.

 Jaime daydreams about how he would cut down Robert Baratheon when all of a sudden the king’s voice snapped him out of his daydream, we are to leave for longtable in three days. Ser Loras you and your men are to leave right away to inform lord Randyll to give battle to Robert assure that lord that help is on the way.

Realized with horror that he had been led into a trap all around him
his men were dying but then he saw him the mad king in golden
armor surrounded by dozens of his knights realizing the only way to
win the battle was to kill the king Robert screamed with me men and with a roar,  Robert charged. He cut down man after man none was able to stop him until one of the knights guarding the king who look to be in the Kingsguard leave the kingside and charged at him.
 
Although a bit tired from all the fighting Robert ran at the charging
Kingsguard and with tremendous strength knocked the knight off his horse.
 
When the knight got up from his fall Robert could see it was Jaime
Lannister, who begin to advance and so the fight began.  ser
Jaime managed to inflict a number of injuries on the rebel leader
before Robert with his Warhammer shatter  ser Jaime sword In half
without his sword, it looked like Jaime would die when all of a
sudden Robert felt a terrible pain in his leg he looked down to see a
arrow in his leg  then he look up at who had shot him only to see
the mad king with a crossbow in hand smiling as he fired a second
one this time at his other leg  angry Robert ran at the mad man but
The closer he got  the  more pain he felt  pain from the injuries caused
by his fight with  Jaime and more importantly by arrows in his leg. 
 
As Robert got closer the mad king pulled out his sword and attack
him.
Even though he was much weakened Robert was still able to dominate most of the battle with Aerys barely able to move out the way of Baratheon's reach but as the fight went on it became clear to both men that it would only be a matter of time before Robert injury got to him so with the last of his strength Robert gave a last thunderous swing with his war hammer, throwing all of his weight into the blow. 
With Aery  just about moving out of the way seeing his chance Aery counterattack driving his sword into Robert killing him
 
 
 
Your Grace  Ser Barristan Selmy, knight of the Kingsguard said, his white cloak torn and tattered from the battle. "Robert is dead. 
 
My gaze was distant as I asked "How goes the battle, Ser?" i asked as I looked around. Dead bodies everywhere on the ground, more with fighting still going on I think we're winning,  but in the chaos, I was not able to be sure about that 
 
"The men saw you cut down Robert Baratheon the rebels who were already losing hearts have begun routing at the news of Robert's death.
 
Good, I said as I got up on my horse round up the rebels Lord and have them brought to me yes your Your Grace said ser Barristan as  I snapped the reins of my horse,  cantering forwards the men begun to chant long live the "king was said over and over again".
