Chapter 16 – it's all my fault. It was now the day after Christmas. Kyouka was having tests done to make sure that she wasn't going through any further complications. She also had to tell the doctors she wasn't going through abuse and that it was just accidental from everything as her mother also had to convince too so that Bakugo wouldn't be charged for domestic abuse. Katsuki waited for information about the cremation since he found out hospitals were able to perform a cremation for miscarried children he tried his very hardest to not cry which he succeeded in knowing how much he wanted to.
Mrs. Jiro came over to him whilst he looked at the glass of babies crying and cooing in a room which made him even sadder. "Here you go Katsuki, a nice Coffee for your energy" she handed him the hot beverage. "she's doing just fine. No internal bleeding or bruising which is good, they are going to keep her in for a week just so she can gain some strength and so she can collect the ashes for the two of you" Kyouka's mother started to cry which made Katsuki feel bad for what he did to her family. "Katsuki you need to head home and rest"
"no I don't want to leave her" he shook his head but Mrs. Jiro calmed the ash-blonde down.
"she is going to be fine I promise. Now go on home and rest up and make sure that your black eye doesn't swell as much" Mrs. Jiro said about to touch his thick purple bruise causing him to flinch slightly. "come back tomorrow okay" she ordered giving him a slight nudge.

On the car ride home, Katsuki was staring at the long empty roads not knowing what to do or where to go not realising that he was driving to his parent's house. Thankfully their cars were outside so Katsuki parked his car outside their house and walked up to their front door. Three knocks were all it took until his mother decided to open the door to see her son looking broken. "KATSUKI WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE!" she yelled but he couldn't find the strength to shout back as a competition. Instead, he fell into her arms and started crying which confused the angry mother.
His tears stained her shirt which was odd for Mitsuki because she never sees her son cry. "it's all my fault mom" he cried and repeated his words over and over again. She didn't know what was wrong but all she could do was hold her son close and hush him softly so he could calm down.
"it's okay...in here" her voice was softened as she loosened her grip from her son's sad embrace so she could let him inside the house.
As the hours went by Mitsuki went upstairs to Katsuki's childhood bedroom where he sat for a while ever since he got to the house and opened the door to see him laying down on his small bed, staring up at the ceiling flinging a small basketball in the air, catching it with his hand. The angry mother was holding a mug of hot chocolate and put it on her son's old bedside table so that she could sit on the edge of the bed.
"your father is still taking a nap, he started crying whilst watching Marley and me so you know what happens if he doesn't take a rest, he'll start worrying and looking at dogs for sale," the angry mother said with a small chuckle "do you want to tell me what is wrong now?" she asked which got Katsuki to sit up. "I've never seen you like this Katsuki and I have to be honest it is scaring me a bit"
He took a deep breath and found the courage to look in her eyes. "you know Kyouka Jiro, the woman who works with me at Music Bomb, you've met her a couple of times when bringing the kids in for me to look after" he explained and the mother just nodded whilst she waited for her son to finish his story "well...we slept together a few times and she ended up pregnant but yesterday me and her ex-husband started fighting and to protect her I-I pushed her out the way but...but" Katsuki started to cry again which Mitsuki knew he didn't have to finish his story. He fell into her arms again crying and all she could do was softly hush him again whilst she stroked his crazy blonde hair. "it's all my fault"
"It isn't your fault Katsuki. It's no one's fault, it was an accident. things happen I don't want you blaming yourself over this" she said but her son carried on crying whilst his head rested on her lap. "I know how you feel...every parent that loses a child feels like a black abyss tries to swallow them whole, when we lost your sister I thought I was a failure, even though she passed away from an illness after giving birth to Katsuma, I still thought of myself as a failure of a mother because I couldn't save her, I couldn't wake her up and say it's time to come home and that I would make her better because she was already gone. I was angry with myself because I couldn't use my special mother powers to make her pain go away and bring her home, every parent feels like that after losing a child no matter how old or how young that child is, it feels the same way" the mother explained as a tear fell down her eye.
The mother and son never connected the way they have before, they usually just scream and shout at each other but for both of them, it felt so nice and comforting. "I just wish I could rewind time and stop my anger overtaking me" he sadly mentioned but all his mother could do was pull him up to a hug.
"me too Katsuki, me too," she said before kissing the top of his head. "you know I never said this to you when I should have but I am so proud of you for how strong you are, and for how you were able to create your own business and own up to your actions from the past," she said which made Katsuki chuckle.

As the week passed Katsuki promised Kyouka that he would be with her for when they collected the ashes which was the hardest thing for the two to do. walking into the hospital the blonde met up with Jiro in her room who was all ready to be discharged from the hospital, he gave her a warm hug but it was awkward for the two of them since they decided that they can't get themselves carried away anymore since she was still angry with him for fighting Denki, even though Kaminari started it, Katsuki pulled the first punch and she wanted him to act better than that.
The two walked to a specific room where they were handed two small silver urns with their son Shei's name engraved which got Jiro extremely emotional but Katsuki tried his best to hold his tears in so that he could be her strength.
Once they left the hospital, the car ride was extremely awkward because Bakugo knew he wouldn't see Jiro for a long time once he drops her home but he didn't fight her on it as he knew he had to give the single mother space. The silence was driving them both crazy as they both wanted to talk but they were extremely stubborn and refused to say the first words. When Katsuki got to the outside of the apartment Jiro quickly got herself out and picked up one of her baby's urn. "thank you" was all she said and walked up to her apartment. Katsuki waited until she went inside the building before driving off finally letting his tears out because he knew they wouldn't be the same anymore. She hates him but also hates herself for putting herself in the middle of the fight. But if he didn't throw the first punch they wouldn't be in this situation. It's all my fault he said in his mind deciding to drive home.
