The Shout

T R I N I T Y

"Okay, let's not get too paranoid here," Sharp started as he proceeded to shut the door. He glanced at Vaux, nodding at him and I watched Vaux press a button before the entire room went red.

"What the..." I started.

"The room's in full lockdown mode. Completely soundproof and no way in or out without the key code," Axel explained. How the hell did they even get technology like this? I barely had equipment back when I was working with my mother. This was something totally different.

"See, you say that Sharp, yet you completely vaulted off the room," was Axel's response to Sharp's earlier statement.

"Because I don't want us to start breaking down as a team," Sharp answered, "trusting your team is everything. You need to know you can depend on the people beside you."

"Yeah well I have trust issues, and it's shit like this that keeps it fueled," Axel pointed to the screen with the location, "how do you explain one of these phone numbers being linked to this address. No one knows this address."

"Of course, I know that, but I also want to play this smart.  Whoever's phone number that is has been leaking information to the Moretti's for God knows how long. This could go one of two ways. One, the Moretti's could be forcing someone to be working for them based on something they have on them -"

"Or someone," Vaux added, "they like to take hostages so damn much."

Sharp nodded.

"I mean, I get that but everyone here should be comfortable enough to come to us with anything," Axel said.

"Between everything going on with us and the people after us, do you really think anyone would?" I reasoned with a shrug. I know  I wouldn't come with any issues with so much going on otherwise.

"Okay well, that's one option. The other one, they are doing it willingly as some sort of axe to grind with you," he glanced at me, "or you."

"Me?" I jumped in, "how the fuck would I be involved?"

"You have to think of all the possibilities," Sharp explained.

"I just got here two seconds ago, why would anyone have an axe to grind with me? I've got a much better personality than De Bastardo over here."

Axel scowled at me and had the nerve to slap my ass for good measure.

"I told you to stop calling me that," he snapped, "now take this seriously. For the sake of whoever it is, they better be in option one. I'd be more forgiving. I guess now it makes sense how I got that picture, Sharp."

Sharp nodded but I wanted to know more.

"Hold on, what picture?" I questioned.

I noticed the glance the two men shared before Axel looked at me and explained his conversation in the car on the way back with the man named Lorenzo Moretti.

"So wait, he had a picture of me? How the fuck did he get it?"

Axel balled his fingers into fists as he said, "Trust me, the bastard will pay for that - him and anyone who's working with him."

"Well, what do we do now?" Vaux asked. "We can't very well give all the information to the entire team if we suspect someone of playing both sides."

Sharp paused for a second before he spoke.
