The Undeniable

"Are you sure we can trust him?" Trinity asked, eyeballing the old man as he settled on the boat and untied it from the docks.
I laughed.
"Believe me, if there's anyone that would willingly go against mi padre, it's him," I replied.
She wasn't letting this go.
"Who is he really?"
I smiled but didn't answer.
"Can we get on the boat and then have this discussion, mi angelita?"
She narrowed her eyes at me and I moved towards her, wrapping my arms around her waist whilst dropping the duffle bag on the sand. Despite my best efforts, my hands strayed toward her ass and I gave it a firm squeeze.
"Axel, get your hands off me," she growled as she pushed against my chest. "Honestly, you're like a horny fucking dog."
"Woof," I joked.
"You're going to make me knee you in the balls. Now answer me," she demanded. Mi angelita, I thought with a grin, all work and no play.
"He's our ticket out of here," I said, "you're the one who wanted to leave, right?"
"And what about Nick and Caroline?"
At the mention of their names, my playful mood was tucked away. Removing my hands from her waist, I dug through my pocket for my cell phone and immediately dialled Nick. I told him to get Caroline and meet us here, knowing the risk of moving her, but it was more dangerous leaving her here with my father.
"Nick, where are you?" I asked as soon as he picked up the phone.
"About ten minutes out," he answered, "but we've got company."
Great. Just what we fucking needed.
"Alright, listen -"
"Make that five minutes," he interrupted and I heard the car skidding in the background and the shrieking of the doctor.
"Axel, what the fuck is that?" I heard Trinity ask me and I followed her gaze toward the storm of sand coming toward us from a distance. Not long after, my eyes picked up on a silver car heading toward us.
"That, mi angelita, is Nick driving terribly with my severely injured sister in the back seat," I said with a scowl. I'm sure Nick picked up on my harsh tone.
"Axel, get on the fucking boat!" Nick shouted. It was then I noticed the two black SUVs tailing him.
"And if I do that, how the fuck are you guys going to get Caroline out?"
"I'm gonna drive right on the pier, just do it," was his only response before he hung up.
Bastard.
"Trinity," I called out, bending to get the duffle bag and then grabbing onto her hand. "We're waiting on the boat. Right here. You still have that gun I gave you earlier?"
She gave me a nod, taking it out of her waistband and thrusting it in my hand. My eyes did a once over at the simple Glock, making sure the safety was off, before thrusting it back to her. "If anyone besides Nick, Caroline or the doctor comes up, shoot to kill."
"I have my knives, I'll be fine."
"Trinity," I repeated, holding out the gun to her. She may not be close enough to use that precious knife of hers.
