We ended up ruining both beds. Oliver and I had intended to go back to my bed when we woke up in the morning, but things moved too quickly and I didn't want to stop for us to relocate. It was my fault for also having condoms and lube hidden in the guest bedroom. Otherwise, we would have been forced to go back to my bedroom.

"I think I'm done," Oliver said, flopping over onto his back. "I can't come anymore."

I laughed. "Yeah, I think I'm done too. And we really have been in bed all morning. It's going to be lunchtime soon."

"I suppose we should get up so I can see something today," Oliver said. "Since that's why I'm in Washington."

"What do you have in mind?"

"You mentioned something on the plane, something about a cape. Or cove?"

"Cape Flattery. It's the northwesternmost point of the US, not counting Alaska. You can see great sunsets there if the weather's cooperating."

"Let's do it," Oliver said. "Even if the weather isn't cooperating, I still want to see it."

"It's an hour and a half drive each way. You up for that?"

"After wearing myself out in bed with you, a long drive sounds great. Is the hike out to Cape Flattery long?"

"Nope, less than two miles. How about this - I'll go pick up some dinner for us to have when we're there, and while I'm out getting that, you can wash all the sheets so we have a clean bed to sleep in tonight."

"Deal." Oliver leaned over and kissed me.

A couple hours later, I loaded a small cooler and my backpack into my truck. I had packed a nice tablecloth my mom had given me, an electric lantern, and some durable plates. I had stopped at the deli when I went to the store and had sandwiches made, with nicer bread and better ingredients than the usual sub sandwiches, and picked up a few sides to go along with them. On my way home from the store, I went by a gift shop to get two tiny tabletop floral arrangements. My plan was to create a picnic dinner under the stars.

I was nervous. I didn't know if Oliver would like this, or if my effort would be enough compared to what he was used to in California. For me, it was going to be a fancy picnic, but to most people it'd be considered simple and nothing special. I wanted to do something nice for Oliver, something to cheer him up after his break-up and let him know that I cared. Something more than just great sex.

"Is everything ready?" Oliver asked, coming down the steps of my front porch.

"Yep. Are you ready? Hat, gloves, scarf, coat? It can get chilly once the sun is down."

"I've got all that. Thanks for making sure I stay warm," he replied, stepping close to me and brushing his lips against mine.

"Of course." I kissed him back, opening my mouth and putting my hands on his hips. His tongue met mine, and we were kissing for a few seconds before he pulled away.

"We need to focus on actually getting there," he laughed.

"You're right," I said, grinning back. "Let's go."

During the long drive there, Oliver stayed glued to the window. It made me happy how enthralled he was with scenery.

"What else do you want to see while you're here?" I asked.

"Is there anything that's walking distance from Forks? You know, that I could see on my own while you're with your family tomorrow for Thanksgiving? And I meant to ask if I need to find something to do on Friday also, in case you're doing stuff with your family for more than one day."
