Part 9 'The Truth'

Dani POV
"Hey guys," Jack said doing that high-5 thing that guys do to Cam and Nash.
"Hey," Cam replied awkwardly.
"How you been?" Nash asked politely.
"Yeah, really good. Hey you guys remember Madison," Jack said looking at Madison.
"Of course," Cam said.
"How could we forget about Madison," Nash added. Hayes just looked up at Jack and Madison blankly as did I.
"Hi guys," Madison said sitting down by Jack with a big smile.
"Oh my god, Dani, is that you?" Madison said looking over at me with a surprised expression.
"The one and only, besides. who else would it be?" I replied giving her a weird look.
"Well look at you. You've grown so much since the last time I saw you," Madison said looking at me.
"Can you please not talk to me like I'm 6 years old. You're only like a year older than me," I replied sliding my sunglasses up on my head.
"Oh well, I was just trying to be nice," Madison said to me now with a sour look on her face.
"Please, just, stop," I said putting my hands up and burying my face into my towel again. I heard Hayes chuckling beside me. He was trying to hide his face. It was hilarious. Soon I started laughing to.
"What's funny?" Madison asked Hayes and I with a smile. I wanted to say, "You" but I just said
"Nothing."
"Do you wanna come for another swim?" Hayes asked me, seeing I was struggling to listen to Madison.
"Please," I said with a sorrowful face.
"Race ya," Hayes said getting up.
"Hey not fair! You got a head start!" I yelled out to Hayes while also getting up, throwing my sunglasses onto my towel and running. Hayes obviously got to the water first and then he stopped when the water was nearly up to his knees, turned around to face me (who had stopped running and started walking) and put his hands in the hair pretending to be a champion or something.
"What's my prize?" He asked when I got to the water.
"Hmmmm, I don't know, nothing," I replied with a cheeky grin on my face. Hayes then ran up to me and picked me up bridal style and ran deeper into the water.
"Hayes! Put me down!" I screamed. He wouldn't let go. I kicked my legs and everything.
"Take a deep breathe," Hayes said while smiling.
"Wait what," I replied shocked. I did it anyway and he took me underwater. Finally he let me go. I still had the Go Pro on my wrist that I forgot to take off. We had one of those underwater kisses and it was just like when you see them in the movies. I kept looking back at the beach and Madison did not look happy. It's probably cause Jack was giving his attention to the guys and not her. After a quick swim, we got out. We ran up the beach back to our towels. I had accidentally got Madison a little wet from when I lied down, my hair flicked.
"What was that for?" Madison asked with stern look on her face.
"Sorry. My hairs a little wet," I said sarcastically. Somehow I thought I was slaying her, which I probably was.
"Can you not be rude to me?" She said still being the sour bitch I remember her to be.
"Settle petal," I said now tanning my stomach and the front of my legs, lying on my back. You know when you get that feeling of everyone looking at you? Yeah, that was me now. Only I could feel the glares on me. They were burning me more than the sun. Speaking of burning, I should put more sun screen on.
"Do you guys think we could get back on the road soon? I still wanna explore a little more," I asked while putting more sunscreen on my tanned skin.
"Yeah, that sounds like a plan I think," Nash said giving Cam that "we NEED to go" look.
"Yeah, sure. We'll just pack our stuff up and say good bye," Cam replied obviously getting the hint. I picked my things up and put them in my bag. I put my sunglasses on and my singlet back on over top of my bikini. Everyone said goodbye and Madison was just kind of there, standing there in the background staring me down cause she wasn't the only girl there. She's never liked me. Ever since her and Cam were together, that's when the shit started. We all hopped in the car once again and we were gone. By this time is was around 3 o'clock but we drove in the opposite way of the camp site anyway. This time, we turned the music down a bit and played truth cause it's kinda hard to do truth or dare when you're in a car and driving. Nash went first.
"Hayes, how long had to liked Dani before you two were a thing?" Nash asked Hayes while turning around to face him. Hayes started blushing and all of us started laughing.
"Well, I kinda had one of those 'kindergarten' crushes on her when we were little but then she went away and when she came to L.A, it was like those feelings all over again," Hayes replied looking at me with the biggest smile on his face.
"AWW how cute," Nash said turning around.
"Okay. Dani, What's the deal with you and Madison?" Hayes asked looking at me with a confused face. As soon as he said that, Cam looked in the review mirror at me as if to ask me if I was okay sharing it, I nodded back at him.
"Okay, well, it all started when Cam was still living at home and I was actually friends with Madison. She went to the same school as me but was a grade higher. She was my only friend, until one day, I figured out that she was only my friend to get with Cam. Now Cameron on the other hand, being a teenager and all, went for her. Long story short, she made everyone at school hate me and played this whole innocent act as if she had done nothing wrong and that's when I started home school. That back at the beach? Yeah, that's what she does. She manipulates people into thinking that she a sweet angel and makes the other person seem like the devil, when she's the devil," I replied looking out the window. No one said anything, as if they were trying process what I just said. Yeah, she's fucked with all of their hearts, but who would of known that I was her "friend".
"Cam, do you have a crush?" I asked leaning forward and whispering the last part in his ear.
"Well first off, that was creepy, don't do that again and second, I do actually," Cam replied still looking at the road but smiling this time. I'm sure all of our jaws dropped.
"What?" Cam asked now laughing a little.
"You never told me!" Nash said surprised.
"Neither!" I added.
"Or me! What's going on? Who is it?" Hayes also added.
"Well, that's not for me to tell," Cam said now with a smirk. So basically how this drive went was for the next half an hour we were driving, we were nagging Cam about this mystery girl, then he must of got sick of us so he stopped at the beach that had a pier and the sun was at it's brightest. There were fire pits and a store there too. We went to the store to get food cause we hadn't eaten in hours and we were all starving.
"So when am I gonna get my ice tea, ice cream and hot Cheetos?" Nash asked with an innocent look. Cam and I both looked at each other in realization of what we've done.
"Go get 'em then," I replied with a slight grin. As soon as I said that, Nash ran to the isles of where he could find the contents of his prize. He was like a kid in a candy shop. I went and got a water bottle, a sandwich and a packet of Sour Patch Kids. When we all had our stuff, we made our way to the beach. I went back to the car to grab my stuff. I made my way down to the sand where the guys had a nice spot. There were more people on this beach than the others but we were far out of the city where most would be. We didn't do much there. Just talked. Soon the sun started setting. All sunsets are so pretty. Tonight, The sky was just purple and blue with a slight bit of yellow where the sun was. "Did you wanna take one of those sunset photos where there's two people in the water?" Hayes asked me leaning over to me but not taking his eyes off the sky. "Sure," I said admiring him. "Hey could one of you guys take some pictures of us?" I asked Cam and Nash. "Sure," Nash replied getting up. "I'll come," Cam said also standing up. We took group photos and all that jazz and we headed back to the camp. There was only a strip of sunlight across the sky now and the moon had taken over the sky. When we got back, it was pitch black so we got all our stuff and went back into the cabin. I called first shower so that's what I did. When I got out, I put some comfy shorts on and a sweatshirt. I decided to go for a walk to get more fresh air cause the best time to go for walks is late at night. I grabbed my phone and put my flip-flops on and started walking. I put my hand in the pockets of sweatshirt cause it was a little chilly tonight. After a few minutes of walking, someone put their hand over my mouth and dragged me away...
