Entry 3 - Planting some seeds

[Croppy Situation]

Shiori- "To provide sustenance for ourselves without the need for me or Rimuru in case we ever get missing, we will be gardening!"

Some people who have been gathering got confused because they think that Rimuru and I could do something like provide a meal for the people just with a snap of a finger.

Today is some weeks after Gazel and Luminous come to this country and we got this gathering of monsters declared as independent nation and not an enemy of god. It's still the spring season somehow but I don't really pay attention to that and just continue with my day.

I glance at Rimuru who was currently placed on a plastic chair in his slime form to get him to translate my word so that they have a better understanding of what I wanted to say.

Rimuru- "The reason is, with the increase of our population, it will be tedious if we would have to snap our finger every time the citizen need to eat something, there might also be a time where we won't be here because of some important business, so we have prepared lots of fields for us to grow crops"

Shiori- "Yeah! Exactly as he said! As someone would say that any land that yields good food has good crops! and that's what I want our land to be. In any case, We'll be counting on all of you!"

All- ""Yes, ma'am!""

Marzuki- "As expected of Shiori-sama to think that far ahead!"

Hakurou- "Hohoho, one can't fight with an empty stomach, after all"

Geld- "And we wouldn't want our children to starve when Shiori-sama won't be able to look for us"

Raphtalia- "Truly a visionary thinking! As expected of our lady!"

Kazuma- "Why am I even here, anyway? I could be at the cave right now"

Nagisa- "Come on, Kazuma. Gabiru is here as well, so you won't be able to do any supervising anyway and you won't be able to help Kaijin and Vesta because you are not suitable in their area of expertise"

Kazuma- "Yeah... you're right, Nagisa-chan"

Shion- "I see! So you guys want delicious food, right?"

She said while holding an ominous-looking pot and I can feel myself shivering as I notice that everyone who looks at her and knows what happened to me when I eat her food got a pale look on their face.

Shinji- "R-Right! Let's get working everyone! Ahahahahahaha!"

All- ""Oh!""

Shinji drags Mio by her wrists and picks his hoe to till a plot of lands which was the farthest from Shion while Rimuru and I sweatdrop at his running figure that practically left some dust as he runs away.

Rimuru/Shiori- "Well... that just happened"

Shion- "Is there something wrong with Shinji-sama?"

I pat her shoulder and give her thumbs up while showing a confident smile.

Shiori- "Nothing, let's just get to work now"

Shion tilts her head in confusion after seeing my action but just brushes it off as she lifts Rimuru and follows me to assign people for their role.

[Not that interesting]

As I was minding my own business and working in a field feeling bored as I did all of these tedious tasks of tilling the field, I could see that most of the interesting things that happen in Tensura Nikki will not occur here due to my presence.
