Delirium.
A fast acting poison that slowly spreads through the body, deadening any sense of consciousness left in the mind. Dangerous but yet also harmless in some cases, in this case, it was ballistic level dangerous.
As each survivor could simply not possible get back to reality after seeing the corpses of their fellow survivors, each survivor also wondered why they too had survived and still kept imprisoned in this never ending nightmare.
Each survivor came to terms and dealt with the illusions they were experiencing in their own ways, some in the expected way, the others, not so much.
Lady Magret, having seen the monster of her husband, sprawled on the floor lifeless felt a sense of gratitude to whoever or in this case, whatever had caused his death. She was not glad that she would no longer have to suffer. She was glad and thankful that a man who was known for molesting young girls and boys back in her hometown was finally gone. Now, she could die in peace knowing her siblings would be safe from him forever and the era of Sir Lord Thomas Fackleberry was over.
Sir Thomas on the other hand, having seen his prized possession dead before his eyes had wondered if he had killed her during the pause mid air. Memories of the actions he had done with her with and without an audience flooded his mind as he began to get a hard on. Walking over to his wife and proceeding to strip off her clothes and having carnal knowledge of her corpse seemed to please him even more, even having to hold her head to prevent it from falling off turned out to be quite a turn on. After finishing, he was not quite satisfied as he proceeded to do the same to young Hakuna over and over again till his schlong became quite sore. Only then did he decide to mourn.
His Grace, Lady Madare looked at her sister, Lady Nexia with contempt and spite. She was always jealous of her sister and the jealousy grew even more as her sister had managed to look even more graceful than ever after death . Rising to her feet and scrambling about the other dead bodies on the floor, she found what she was looking for, one of the knives the men had brought in. Holding it with shaking hands, she made her way to her sister and proceeded to slash at her with so much fury she injured herself in the process. After successfully making her sister look like she was attacked by a tiger, she dropped the knife and curled up, sobbing. Lady Nexia in a twisted way dealt with the illusions the same way her sister did. Only difference was that she also attacked Lady Magret's corpse out of spite.
Prince Obitin who was still grieving for his beloved butler could not even be bothered about the corpses he was seeing. He only felt an amount of pity for Hakuna after seeing her young body almost snapped into two. Memories of his past life from his kingdom flashed through his mind as he saw his younger self getting tortured by his tyrant father in front of his other dead siblings who did not make it through the torturing. Broken once more, he collapsed into a coma like state but with tears falling from his eyes.
Lord Hamilton seemed to have no thoughts at all. His mind seemed to be like a black hole where everything that entered got destroyed in a millisecond. He seemed to have no care in the world about the dead bodies and was rather concerned about the pain in his chest. Hakuna, his child servant seemed to be rather calm than terrified as she had grown accustomed to the sight of dead bodies since when she was two. She got tempted to open the door to let the creatures feast and end her pathetic life but she had neither the strength or the height to open the door.
At this moment, each survivor realized the truth of the matter and whatever happened next was up to them or so they each thought.
Back in the shadows, they were watched. By the creatures, perhaps? or something else entirely...
