Anxiety.
As the time flew by, the anxiety suffocated the rest of the survivors. As they crouched together in absolute fear, the thought on their minds was to get out of the room that seemed to be getting smaller by the minute.
Each guest seemed to have made a fantasy world where they were safe from the horrors of reality. But alas, all good things must come to an end, as a loud banging on the titanium doors harshly brought everyone back from their lala land. There were screams of course, following by someone begging to be let in. The shock of hearing a human speak after all that had happened was so overwhelming. The thought of it being their minds playing tricks on them flashed through their minds so they inched away from the door.
The voice was feminine, at first sounding like a child begging for a toy then later progressed into screeching like a banshee, voice cracking and all just to be let in. Soon, the voice got deeper and more demanding, as if she was getting possessed by the dark evil that lurked outside those doors. They all shivered, closing their eyes, begging for it to stop.
More screeching, as if she was on fire. Prince Obitin who had been gathering up courage, got up, moved rather slowly to the peephole and looked but what he saw threw him back in fear, or rather what he did not see.
They inquired what was the matter but he could only mumble incoherent words that could not be clearly heard because of the screeching. He finally muttered after a while that there was no one there.
Silence. Pin drop silence.
Suddenly, everything began to shake. Things rising up as if there was no gravity. Everything seemed to hang in mid air for hours. Confusion was an understatement for what the guests were feeling. Then, the shaking again, rather violent this time, bones and furniture got broken. The screeching came louder than ever, rattling the windows or anything that was not floating, but the guests could not differentiate from their screeching or the one coming from outside.
Then it got so quiet and so peaceful, at least they thought.
Till they all fell and each guest wondered why every other guest seemed to have broken their necks from the fall.
Then the screeching began once more, and each guest was lost once more in their minds, left in a room full with dead bodies and of course, the invisible entity that did not seem to shut up for a minute, who continued the banging.
Perhaps, their minds were playing tricks on them, or not.
