Gus x Mattholomule

Part 24

Mattholomule's POV:

hold on.. did I just-

oh wow- this is great

"Wait what?" he asks

"Umm, you know I was just joking, right..?" I try to convince him

He definitely doesn't think it was a joke, what do I do now?

"It all makes sense now, thanks for telling me Mattholomule!" he says happily

I watch him walk away.

I'm just gonna pretend like that never happened because that was really awkward.

Gus's POV:

"Willow, Luz, Amity. You aren't gonna believe this, Mattholomule likes someone that has the same name as me! What a coincidence, am I right?" I tell them.

I watch their facial expressions change, they look at me as if I'm the dumbest person on the boiling isles.

"Gus, are you really 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 oblivious?" Luz asks me.

I watch Amity and Willow giggle.

"Ahaha.. I was um, just joking!" I try to play it off

They look relieved now.

Maybe I should think about what he said more, there has to be something I'm missing.

At night:

I don't understand, I've been thinking about everything for hours.

I wish he would maybe tell me more, but he won't.

He likes someone that has the same name as me, or a similar name. That's why he got confused and said he was talking to the one he liked when he was actually talking to me!

But if that was true, why would they laugh at me and tell me I'm oblivious? I mean, I can tell pretty easily when someone has a crush on someone else, but this is just complicated.

I'm just gonna go to bed, maybe in the morning I'll figure it out.
