Ding.

Your phone's discord notification alert rang. It had been ringing up your room the whole morning, you didn't anticipate the massive crowd that would be interested in getting art done by you.

ALPHYS>__<#1893 sent you a friend request.

Another potential client? You were a budding artist taking commissions in several art Discord servers and the rate clients were coming to you was getting really fast recently. You probably had to close them soon or you wouldn't be able to handle the workload.

You weren't sure where all this attention was coming from but it was probably when you uploaded fanart of [insert your favourite media] in a Discord server you were in. It had been at most 3 hours since a client had come to commission you and just like all the others, you beamed with delight at the new friend request.

Without hesitation, you accepted the friend request at the very moment you saw it in your notifications, greeting the client politely too.

Chat open.

READER: hi hi!! thanks for your friend request. how may i help you (о'∀'о)?

ALPHYS: wow you're pretty quick!! uhm... i was wondering whether i could commission you two pieces at once? ^__^

READER: i will have to see what you have in mind first! may i know what you wish for me to draw for you?

ALPHYS: ehh!! i hope this isn't embarrassing... would you be able to draw a rendered headshot of mew mew from mew mew kissy cutie in your own style?

Just as you were about to start replying, another message came in.

Ding.

ALPHYS: and for the second piece.... could you draw me a portrait of me and my girlfriend as traditional realistic work?? here's a reference picture ^ . ^ it's okay if you can't!!

ALPHYS sent an image.

Looking at the image to see whether you would be able to accept this second commission, you were greeted with a beautiful picture of a couple, consisting of a yellow reptilian monster and a blue fish-like monster with a red ponytail and an eyepatch on their eye. It was a cute picture nonetheless and you would definitely love to draw this picture for them.

You never had one client commission you two pieces at the same time before, they sure must be confident in your art skills. In art, you guess you were considered... a master of many trades? You could do realistic or your own stylised anime art-style too, catching the eyes of many potential customers with your wide capabilities.

Returning back to your keyboard, you replied:

READER: ah i can definitely do the both of that for you ^ . ^ cute photo btw!! the waiting time is about two-three weeks if you're alright with that!

ALPHYS: of course!!! i wouldn't mind waiting longer if i had to, your art is one of a kind ... ^_^

READER: thank you so much!! i will update you once i start making the sketches of both pieces. you can make payment to me at my PayTale once you are satisfied with the sketches (o^^o)

ALPHYS: it is no problem, do take your time!!! thank you for your quick replies ^__^

Close chat.

What a pleasant chat! Sometimes, your clients were either really rude, impatient to you or took a LONG time to pay you for your work. That was the main reason you started collecting payment once you were done with the initial sketches.

It was really annoying to chase clients for their payment and it didn't feel nice either... even though you were just trying to get what you rightfully deserved. Based on this conversation, you were pretty reassured that this client would turn out fine and hopefully they would be a returning one! Nice and sweet clients were always well appreciated.
