The Lightborns (Alucard x Granger)

Drop...drip...drop...drip

It was raining, and Alucard was sick of it. 

Panting, he leaned against the bark of a large oak tree. He looked down at his shoes, covered in gray mud from chasing down a stray demon who intruded the Moniyan Empire's territory. 

"FUCK!", he slammed his sword on the thick, wet bark. 

The demon had gotten away, and Alucard was absolutely livid. It was Miya's birthday in the next week, and he desperately needed gold to buy her the present of her dreams. Losing this demon would cost him a reduction from his monthly pay. 

"~~~~~~~~~~~~"

Alucard turned to this mysterious sound. It sounded like a gentle breeze after a large storm. What is that sound?...Music? 

Abandoning his sword, he approached the source of the sound carefully. He made sure to avoid the muddy spots of wet mud and turned his gaze to a wonderful sight. 

The day has been cloudy and dark all day, but though that was the case, a streak of warm, glowing light beamed toward the man playing the violin. He was dressed in all black, sitting on the yellow grass, still wet from the rain. He was playing the violin so passionately, and swiftly, that Alucard could not take his eyes off that man. 

Suddenly, the music stopped. In a blink of an eye, the man grabbed his gun and shot. 

BANG!

Alucard froze.

Alucard's heart skipped a beat as the bullet missed him by an inch. 

Wide-eyed, he turned behind him, and saw that the demon he had been searching for all morning had been shot right in the head. The demon collapsed after simply just swaying in one spot. 

"How---did you--how did you kill that demon?", Alucard said dumbly, his mouth still gaping open from the shock. 

"Well, it was simple really, I can demonstrate for you again if you'd like, but it's quite concerning how you don't know you should bring your weapon with you in these territories.", the man said.

"May I ask for your name?", Alucard said desperately, as if the man was going to leave at any second. 

"...It's Granger", he said, "..if you want that demon bounty, take it."

Before Alucard could utter anymore words, the mysterious man gathered his equipment and left.
