Big mistake

Chris POV

Once Milly had left I made my back to the bbq, Scott came rushing over.
"Chris I'm so sorry, I didn't even think"
"It's okay Scott. She is just still pretty jumpy that's all"
Zoe came running over to me so I picked her up
"Uncle cap where is mummy?"
"She headed off home bumble bee, she wasn't feel well"
"Okay, can we stay for a little bit longer?"
"Of course we can, go have fun"
I put her down and she runs off. She loves it here and my family adore her.
I'm sat down at my mums table and we are all chatting away when I hear my phone ringing. I grab it and answer it. It's Milly
"Hey Milly, how you feeling?"
"Milly?"
She isn't answering. I'm about to hang up when I hear a voice "well sweetie looks like I found you"
I know that voice, I quickly get my mums attention and tell her to call the police.
I explain to them what is going on. Daniel is at my house.
I grab Scott, Ryan and Joe and we head to my brother car to drive over there.
Once we arrive the front door is wide open, I run in and I see Milly on the floor in the kitchen, crying holding her arm.
I run to her "Milly? What happened?"
"He was here Chris, he came back, he was going to...."
"Milly where is he?"
"I.....stabbed him and he ran out"
"You stabbed him?"
"Yeah"
"I'm so proud of you."
I pull her in for a hug. The police arrive and take statements. Apparently Daniel was out on bail and there was a restraining order again him. So he has now broken that order and will go straight to jail until his hearing.
I got Milly to sit on the sofa and the lads went back to mums. Scott said he would ask mum to keep Zoe for the night. Milly reluctantly agreed.
She was still pretty shaken up and I know she wouldn't want Zoe to see her like this.
I make her a strong drinks and bring it to her.
She looks up at me, tears in her eyes " Chris I'm never going to be safe from him"
"Yes you are, you proved something today, your not scared of him anymore. You hit back Milly, you did that and he ran away."
"I guess so"
"Hey look at me" I lifted her chin to look at me "you are the strongest women I know and you will be okay. He will be sent to prison for what he has done to you and you'll be free Milly."
She just nodded, I pulled her in for a hug which she gladly excepted.
We lay there for a while just hugging each other, Millys breathing had evened out so I gathered she must be sleeping.
"Amelia. I'm falling for you. I know your not ready but I want to be in your life so much"
I kissed the top of her head and hugged her tighter before falling sleep myself.

Amelia POV

I wake up on Chris's chest, we must have fallen asleep on the sofa. He is still peacefully sleeping, I look up at him and I can't help but admire him. He is perfect and I don't just mean the way he looks, he has been an amazing man for me and Zoe. He has been the dad she has always wanted and he has supported and protected me through all of this, even before he knew what was going on he was always trying to protect me.
While I'm looking at him I feel my heart start to race and I get butterflies in my stomach. Am I falling for Chris? Am I even ready for another man in my life?
I feel Chris stir and I quickly get up and go into the kitchen. I make coffee and stand staring out of the window. I hear him walking into the kitchen.
"Morning Milly"
"Good morning"
"How are you feeling?"
"I'm surprisingly okay, you were right last night, I fought back. And it made me feel good"
"I'm glad" he was smiling at me so much, he had such a beautiful smile.
"You sure your okay?"
"Yeah I'm fine just thinking"
"Good? Bad?"
"Maybe good, I don't know yet"
"Okay. Well I'm going to go get dressed and them should we go and get Zoe?"
"Yeah, I'll run up and get dressed too"
So we both went to our rooms and got dressed, I threw on some jeans, a tank top and some white sneakers.
We both walked out at the same
"You look nice Milly"
"Thank you. You too"
We headed on out and drove to Lisa's house when we got there she pulled me into a hug and I felt so much love.
"Are you okay honey?"
"I'm okay, honestly"
Next thing I knew Zoe was coming running to me
"Mummy!!!!!"
"Hey bubbles"
"I missed you"
"I missed you too sweetie"
"Uncle cap!" She held her hands up to him. He took her from me and she hugged him tight.
"I slept in your old bed"
"You did? Was it comfy"
"It was. I liked it" she was holding on to him so tight, she loved him so much and he loved her.
She lent in and whispered something to him, I'm not sure what but he smiled and kissed her cheek. He let her back down so she could finish getting ready to leave.
"What did she say?"
"She said thank you for saving you"
I smiled and felt a tear in my eyes. "You did save me Chris" I lent in and kissed his cheek.
He smiled and blushed slightly "anytime"
Zoe came running back in and we headed home. I thanked Lisa for having Zoe and she said anytime.
When we got home, I played with Zoe for a long time in her room. I had missed her so much and she was by far the best thing in my life.
"Mummy?"
"Yes honey"
"Do you love uncle cap?"
"Yeah he is my friend"
"No mummy, more then a friend"
I didn't know what to say, I didn't know if I did love him like that. I've always wondered what a life with Chris would have been like If we had gotten together when we were younger. But then I got married and had Zoe and didn't really think of it after that.
"Why do you ask baby?"
"Cuz I love Chris and I think he would make an amazing daddy for me"
I smile down at her, she was so sweet.
"I'm still trying to figure things out at the moment sweetie but I'll let you know okay"
"Okay"
We played for about another hour until she fell asleep.
I popped her into bed and went back out into the living room. Chris was in his office, so I sat down at the piano and started playing.
