I heard Jerome's scream. Instantly, I dropped Nooch and ran over to my friend. The world around me seem to fall blank except Jerome and Vikk. All I saw was darkness behind, in front and beside me. I kneeled down beside him.
"Jerome! Jerome, wake up!" I shouted, almost in tears. Vikk came up behind me and hugged me tightly.
"Hes gone, babe." He said, fighting back tears. He tried to pull ke away from the body but I just stayed there. "Hes with Mitch now. Like Prestons with Rob." Vikk said, looking up. There seemed to be another star glittering in the sky. It seemed it dance closer to another. I looked at Vikk.
"Theres Jerome." I said, pointing at the star. He smiled a little and kissed my forehead. He nodded and sighed. He did so much for us, me especially. I just couldnt believe he was gone. I put my head closer to Vikks chest and sobbed more. We knew we needed to get kitted up and ready for deathmatch. I got up, reluctant to leave Jeromes body. I took the iron chestplate from him and put it on. It felt so wrong to be doing this, but I knew I had to. We would win the hunger games, for Merome, for Poofless, for Vikklan.

Vikks POV

Lachlan was broken, I could tell. He was so distant from us it was unreal. He would only look up when I kissed him. Then all he would do is smile for a second. I hated to see him like this. I dragged him away after he grabbed a few things and we both ran to the cornacopia. Mat and Ryan stood on the oppersite side of the area. I felt Lachlan growling. I put my hand on his shoulder, gently holding him back. I felt a trickle of blood on my leg. That cheating robot! I looked down at the arrow, which had buried its way into my leg and winced. Another arrow came whistling past our heads. I couldn't walk on my leg, so I balanced awkwardly on Lachlans shoulder. He grabbed hold of my hand and sat me down.
"Ill be back, I swear."
And thats the last thing I heard from him.
