That was a fair point-- it was good. I- I need to look for stats-- but it made sense. But, but-- there has to be a less extreme way of approaching it. Wait--- haha-- I see what he did-- he started off with a 'shock' factor-- the disagreement-- to catch the attention of others-- to hook us in. Then, he came in with a less drastic solution-- that made sense. I should try to be more logical about these things. Okay, let's try it. Logic-- boom! No-- I do have logic-- I'm just immature as heck. Okay-- matur---
"Hey Y/N, are you ready for History of Magic?" asked Scorpius, almost rejoicing in having interrupted her thoughts. She was definitely intelligent, but just needed some polishing in the magic field, he figured.
The pair waited outside the door for Albus to finish packing his bag.
Y/N was still lost in her thoughts. She felt as though something had been awakened in her, and she liked the feeling-- she adored the feeling. It gave her such a rush.
I have to learn everything-- and I want to say that it's to compete-- but honestly, it's for me. I want to learn everything. Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! I want to learn absolutely everything I possibly can. This is sooo exciting! And hey-- I wouldn't mind it if this meant he and I could talk a little more-- shoot-- stop stop-- oh no-- nope nope nope--- breathe
Scorpius, who technically should not be reading people's minds because that's kind of rude-- or maybe it isn't (he's got a gift-- why can't he utilize it?), blushed slightly at having heard that bit.
At last Albus came out, his face stuffed with cake.
"Wow Albus, I just leave you alone for a minute and then you lose all of your charm and eloquence"
"Hey- that's not fair-- this is very good cake. Besides-- the potions professor is a fan of my father's, so-- I mean-- I'm technically part-him-- so-- in all fairness, this is totally okay behavior"
Maybe this is an intellectual crush. Oh my gosh-- I've had those in my life-- shoot-- now I'm going to obsess over his brain-- shoot shoot-- kind of creepy-- shoot aghhh- this is not good. Why can't I stop thinking about it?
I've got to say something, thought Scorpius, a little embarrassed and concerned for Y/N.
"Y/N, you haven't said anything. How does it feel to have been destroyed by facts and logic by Scorpius?"
"I wasn't destroyed--" thought Y/N
I was -- I am dead. What if I can never compare in intellect. No--no-- Y/N, you're not dumb. You've got a lot to learn. Ignorance can be rectified-- and even then, I don't think my point was too bad-- it was general, though. I could have been more detailed. I guess I was so caught up in being able to answer that I didn't consider what I was going to say in full depth.
Scorpus grew anxious hearing Y/N. He figured he should say something.

The day passed and Y/N decided to stay quiet and take everything in for the day. She couldn't wait for the tutoring later that day.
"Y/N", said Scorpius, "when would you like to start the tutoring"
"Whenever-- also-- are we doing it in the common room or in the great hall?"
"Wherever-- it doesn't really matter"
"I think it does-- kind of-- I don't know-- either way, there will be people around"
"Not on the first day-- I doubt it"
"Alright-- then I guess the great hall sounds fine"
The pair sat next to eachother and the books flew open.
