Tomorrow came like a huge ocean wave, inevitable and with the power to topple those beneath it or carry those who chose to surf it. Leya didn't know where she stood just yet. Waking early was unavoidable. Even though Harry wouldn't arrive until twelve, Leya's nervousness had her fully awake by nine. After eating breakfast, she found herself almost in a panic. To distract herself, she tried reading, but her drifting mind prevented her from being able to focus. Frustratedly, she decided to just take as much time as possible getting ready.

Half an hour passed in the shower, washing her hair and shaving everything. Then another twenty spent in a towel putting on some light makeup, and twenty more ticked by as she picked out her outfit for the day, trying on and throwing off countless clothes. Finally, because she wasn't sure what they would be doing, she decided on her favorite jean skirt Teresa had bought her and a flowy red blouse with comfortable sandals. Not too fancy, but not too casual. She debated on doing something more with her hair, but chose to simply leave it down in her natural light waves. As a last touch, she clipped on a delicate gold necklace and matching earrings before looking at the final product in the mirror. Leya was pleased, and some of the butterflies in her stomach seemed to settle a bit. Then she saw the time, 11:45, and the butterflies turned into a full-blown stampede.

A loud knock sounded on the door, making her jump, before she called for her aunt to come in. She knew it was her aunt just by the way she knocked.

"Hi honey, I just wanted to check and see how you were doing." Her excitement bled into her tone no matter how neutral she tried to keep her face. Even though her enthusiasm was no secret, the dominant didn't want to push her niece into anything.

"I'm ready." Even though she wasn't completely sure whether it was true, Leya wanted to believe it and tried out a small smile regardless. Her aunt's eyes softened as she took in her niece.

"You look gorgeous," she stated, nodding in approval. A faint blush tinged Leya's cheeks, and she unconsciously lifted her fingers to pick at the frays of her skirt. Her aunt immediately took a step forward and reached out to still her nervous fingers.
"Honey, don't worry. Everything is going to be fine."

Leya nodded reluctantly, straightening her spine a bit.

"Now remember, be polite and ask questions about anything you're uncertain about," her aunt reminded her, squeezing her hand gently before letting go. Just then, the doorbell rang, and it felt as though Leya stomach dropped out from beneath her. Together they made their way down the stairs into the entryway, where Harry in all his six foot glory stood towering over poor Molly who had her head bowed respectively. She looked up at her partner and Leya as they descended, giving Leya a reassuring smile.

"Here they are." Her soft voice was akin to a sigh as it floated through the air. As soon as Leya's eyes met Harry's, her skin prickled not unpleasantly, goosebumps raising along her arms even though she felt ten degrees warmer. Something about his gaze affected her, maybe it was the way his eyes seemed to pin her to the spot, or maybe it was the accompanying expression. Either way, Leya felt slightly breathless as she made her way to stand next to his imposing figure, which practically radiated power in waves. Still, she saw him give a nod of respect to her aunt, who was the older dominant in the room.

"Take good care of her," Teresa spoke, her voice transforming into cold steel before Leya's eyes, and Leya had to blink a few times to not react. She felt Harry's body tense slightly at her aunt's commanding tone before he spoke.

"I will." It was a promise, one that made shivers shoot down her spine. Teresa suppressed a smile at his tone, and instead just nodded in approval, her face schooled into a collected mask.

"Well, have fun you two."

And with that and a few final goodbyes, Harry was leading Leya out into the street, where a sleek black car was waiting. Her eyes widened slightly but she was rendered speechless as Harry opened the passenger side door for her.
