I felt the warm breeze brush against my cheek as I went out, grabbing the things we're going to need for our vacation.

We're going to the beach!

Oh, how I love the beach---not that I love swimming (I couldn't quite swim well)---but the view just takes your breath away. Being in a beach is like being one with nature. I like how beaches calm me in the most effortless way.

Kim snapped her fingers in front of me. "Gaiana! Daydreaming again? Pft, hurry up. We're about to leave and you're just standing there staring off into the distance." She shook her head jokingly and went inside the van. I made a face at her and followed her eventually.

Inside the van were Nadine, Glenda, Kim, Danielle and Kaye---my closest friends. I plugged in my earphones while we were on our way to our destination since noise filled every corner of the vehicle. Kaye was busy singing some japanese song, Glenda was taking selfies with Nadine, whilst Kim and Danielle talked about their crushes. I tsk-ed.

Once we got to our destination, I gasped a breath as I marveled at the sight in front of me....

...My reflection.

Kidding.

The beach. The breeze felt so cool even though the weather felt like it was going to give us sunburns sooner or later. As I stared admiring everything around me, it didn't take long before I realized that my friends have already changed into their swimsuits.

How dare they leave me alone?????

"Come on, Gai! You better change now. It's still kind of early- the sun's rays aren't harmful yet." Kaye tapped my shoulder as she made her way towards the water. "I'll catch up!" I half-shouted at them.

I should take a look around, and take pictures. Good thing I have my camera with me.

And so I did. I took pictures of sandcastles, of people having their snacks at cottages and of the sky. I even saw one of my friends, Isabel, working at a henna shop.  I was busy admiring the sights not until I stepped onto something and lost my balance.

I stepped on a floatie.

Annoyed, I got the seemingly misplaced floatie and was about to throw it to somewhere when someone tapped my shoulder and handed a bill.

"One floatie, please--woah, Gaiana?" I looked back to see who was talking.

I was dumbfounded.

"Jerico?" Was all I managed to say before I heard a fit of laughs.
