One best way to start Monday mornings is to wake up early and go to school early – at least, for me.
I’m currently walking along the corridor of our building, on the way to my classroom. I can’t help but feel a little uneasy and nervous about what’s going to happen later – the official signup of students that are willing and appropriate to run as level representative.
I was still five meters away from our room when I suddenly heard my classmates’ noise. Come on, I’ve known them for quite a few years now and we’re really close – why wouldn’t I recognize their noise? I chuckled softly. We can be pretty loud, sometimes.
Snapping out of my reverie, I entered the classroom, plastering a smile. I got my bag and placed it on my chair, sat down, and shook my head softly as to what they’re currently doing – cramming.
“Dane! Gimme the scissors please!” Nadine half-shouted. Angel was roaming around, looking for something (?) The boys were cramming too, but they were working and at the same time, sparing glances to the ones they admire. Oh boys. Hitting two birds with one stone, eh?
“Paola, you have a paint smear at the corner of your mouth,” Chester said as he wiped off the smear near Paola’s mouth – making it worse. “Thanks,” Paola smiled. She took out her mirror and nearly gasped at what she saw. She glared at Chester but she took a green paint and wiped it on Chester’s nose.
See what I mean? LOL.
But, woah, they look cute together.
Anyway.
The door flew open and Joey came in with a grumpy look on her face. She sighed in annoyance. “Guys,” she called out, “those’ll be passed tomorrow.” She shrugged and snuggled in her chair –still keeping the annoyed look. Jasper came near her and knocked her forehead lightly. “It’s okay, no need to feel so grumpy.” He smiled and sat down beside her. The rest all murmured in annoyance. “So much for our hardwork.” Andrei grumbled while keeping her things.
“Okay guys, let’s all clean up.” I said as I stood up. They nodded their heads and we helped one another in cleaning the room.
We were all finished cleaning when Julia sat beside me, “I heard you’re going to audition for The Voice?” she asked seriously. “Woah, what the heck? No.” I rolled my eyes and she laughed. Pff. I knew she was bluffing anyway. “Okay okay. But seriously, you’re gonna run as level representative, right? Right?” She asked and if only eyes could sparkle, hers would be stars right now.
I nodded my head. “Of course. I wouldn’t miss it for the world.” I smiled. I always wanted to serve my classmates and my schoolmates. I don’t know – it just feels so fulfilling helping others.
The door opened, and my head suddenly jerked towards its direction. Ma’am Joy came in. “Sorry, did I startle you all?” She chuckled. “Anyway, I won’t be staying long, I’m just going to list the participants that’ll run as level representative. So, who among you here will run?” I raised my hand as soon as the question was raised. Ma’am smiled at me. “Victoria,” she said as she wrote down my name. I smiled.
