The Silent Reader is a style of reader that I have encountered in every book I've ever written. Every writer knows the kind of reader that reads chapters but doesn't comment or vote. It drives me absolutely crazy, knowing that someone has read one of my books, but I don't know what they thought of it.
For example, if you were to write a really intense chapter, and you see your amount of reads increase, you would probably check your notifications for votes too, as this would be something a good reader would've done. You will be shocked to see that your book has been infiltrated by silent readers, leaving you in the agonizing state in which you are not sure what people thought. For all you know, they could be texting their friends about how much they hated it, how much they loved it or stalking your page (More often than not, this is the case).
Writers would keep a lot more of their hair if it weren't for these readers, so make sure to vote and comment when you're reading something you enjoy.
