▪︎ Normal POV ▪︎

The sun was going down and they still couldn't find a way back to Castia.
It was getting cold and all they had was a poncho and a wool scarf to keep them warm.
Mirabel held Camilo by the hand as they walked down yet another path in the forest, they stayed huddle together, afraid of losing each other in this environment that can be truly unkind.
Camilo rested his head against Mirabel's shoulder when they finally sat down to rest, Mirabel wrapped her arms around her younger cousin and sighed.

What if they don't find a way home?

What if no ones looking for them?

What if no noticed their gone and they die out here.

Mirabel shook away all those thoughts and hugged Camilo closer, wrapping a part of her large scarf so that he wouldn't catch a cold.
The two stayed close as they could and Mirabel started sing a lullaby as the sun filly went down.

Leaving them in complete darkness.

Back at Casa Madrigal, Pepa and Julieta were inconsolable, the night had finally arrived and Pepa was fearing the worst as she paced back and forth.
Her son and niece were gone, she blames herself completely, if she had just checked on them like she was supposed too, none of this would be happening right now.
Her sister would be sobbing her heart out while fearing the worst for her youngest daughter.
Félix wouldn't have to explain what is happening to a panicked Isabela, Dolores and Luisa.
And Alma wouldn't be comforting Antonio who was crying while asking about his cousin and brother.

None of this would be happening if she just did her damn job and was a good mother to child and a good aunt to her niece.

None of this would be happening if they just checked with them.

After hours of endless searching, but even with the help of the town, they couldn't find the missing children.
That was until a bird came flying in and told Antonio exactly where to go.
And after yet another hour of searching and fearing the worst, they found Mirabel and Camilo.
The two were still huddled together while leaning against a tree, wrapped in Mirabel's wool scarf like a blanket, fast asleep.
Julieta and Pepa were over the moon when their husbands and townspeople returned with their children safe and sound.
And after nice well need baths and a good meal, lots of hugs and kisses were  exchange through out the whole family.

The same night, after a well needed family talk, Mirabel and Camilo decided to have a sleepover in Mirabel's nice quiet room.
After a few hours, Julieta, Pepa, Agustín and Félix popped their heads into the room and saw the two teens huddled together under the blanket fort, both long asleep by now.
The adults were happy that their children were home safe and would be keeping a much better eye on them from now on.
