         SEONG CHAE-YEONG OFTEN REFLECTS on her childhood in rural Korea, where she and her older brother, Jun-Ho, were lovingly raised by their hardworking aunt after losing their parents at a young age. Jun-Ho stepped into the role of caretaker, teaching Chae-Yeong essential skills: walking, reading, and surviving in the wild while they embarked on countless adventures together, forging an unbreakable bond.

Tragedy strikes when their aunt succumbs to cholera, leaving the siblings orphaned and sent to a grim orphanage in Seoul. Despite the harsh conditions, their love for one another remains steadfast, as they vow to protect each other against the world's cruelties.
A traumatic incident forces them to flee one day, leading Chae-Yeong and Jun-Ho to stow away on a cargo ship bound for America, dreaming of a new life filled with promise. However, they soon realise that the reality of immigrant life is fraught with challenges, especially for those without resources and prone to prejudice.

Adopting new identities as Anna and Elijah Thornhill, they resort to a life of crime to survive in this harsh and unforgiving land. As Anna adjusts to her new existence, she grows increasingly worried about Elijah's reckless behaviour, which often puts them at odds with rival gangs.

When Elijah's impulsiveness brings him into conflict with the notorious Van Der Linde gang, Anna is faced with a desperate choice to protect him. Eventually captured by the gang, she negotiates with their charismatic leader, Dutch Van Der Linde, agreeing to work for him in exchange for her brother's safety.
Amidst the chaos of outlaw life, Anna soon finds herself drawn to Arthur Morgan, one of Dutch's most trusted lieutenants. As her feelings for Arthur deepen, Anna confronts a heart-wrenching dilemma: remain loyal to her brother or embrace a love that could change her life forever.
