At First Sight

Lilac watched in amazement as the two guys in front of her engaged in a conversation.

She couldn't believe that her 'kinakapatid' is Adam's bestfriend. Even the two guys don't have any idea that they are connected to her all along.

"Hello po, Tita Ninang!" Carter said and he stood up to give her mom a kiss on the cheek.

"Hello, Carter anak. Oh, sino naman ang napakagwapong lalaking katabi mo?" Mom asked and checked Adam out. Adam gave her a shy smile and winked at her when their eyes met. "May diperensya ba mata mo, hijo?"

"Boom bars, bro!" Carter laughed and Lilac did too. "Kindat pa more!"

"Hello, Ma'am. I am Adam Justamano po. Adam, for short." He said and smiled sheepishly at her. "I am here po to formally ask your daughter to be my date at the upcoming JS Prom and also to court her officially."

"Walang preno ha!" Lilac's Dad said who came from the door. He had went out to have their car fixed.

"Good evening, Sir." Adam greeted and was about to stand but her Dad dismissed it with a nod.

"So,liligawan mo ang anak ko?" Lilac's dad asked again and sat across the guys.

"Yes, Sir. I keep my word." Adam said boldly and Lilac could only blush.

"Alright. Ayos lang ba sa'yo, anak?" Suddenly, all eyes are on Lilac.

"Yes, Dad. I-it's alright with me." Lilac said in a soft voice. She could feel her face warming up.

"Well, then. It's also fine with us." Dad said and Mom nodded.

Carter began teasing them and the awkward tension left the air.
