Balram Dau was resting on the inner garden just near the courtyard after lunch and solving a few matters on the court. As he turned around, he got a glimpse of his younger brother-walking in at a high pace. He walked towards him, intending to tease him and find out about his latest mischiefs when his eyes fell on the two children next to him.
"What is this, Kanha? What have you done this time?" He asked, wide-eyed.
"Ah I'll explain in time Dau. These two must be treated." Madhav replied abruptly, walking past him with high speed. The two friends looked far worse than they did when they arrived. Walking for a few minutes had done the opposite and now, they were nauseous and their head hurt like anything. They had bruises here and there and was struggling to keep up with Krishna.
"I'll call the vaid in. You take them to the nearest room." Dau said, walking towards the palace quickly, rest long forgotten.
A few minutes later, the children walked slowly and steadily into the room Dau had arranged and all but collapsed into the two neatly arranged, luxurious beds.
The royal family, who had followed Dau on hearing the ruckus, now stood, looking curiously at the weirdly dresses children. As the Vaid began to work, they turned to Kanha for explanation.
(P.S.: I'll republish this, with a double update and an explanation for why I couldn't write till now.)
