The wind continued to spin sharply. Nivitha saw Sathvik fly nearby in between, but that was all. Everyone were screaming. Then slowly everything went blank for her.
She found herself in some strange land when she opened her eyes. She did not know how long she was inside the portal since she had fainted. She felt pain everywhere and felt her head spinning. She slowly lifted herself up, walked slowly and sat nearby a tree. She took deep breaths trying to calm herself but it wasn't easy. Then, she took a look around herself. This place was familiar but definitely far from home, she realized.
Suddenly, Sathvik landed next to her and let out a huge groan. "Where am I? I am alive, right?" he cried. "You are alive. And about our destination, even I'm not sure." Nivitha remarked.
"Niv?" he asked. He turned to see his friend in a state similar, yet better than his. He too sat near her and leaned on the tree which she was leaning on. His face had various expressions at once - relief at seeing his friend, fear of not knowing where he was, but it finally settled on anger.
"Niv! What were you thinking?? You worried all of us and led us to God knows where! Does being careful mean nothing to you!?" he yelled.
"I am sorry that I went off without informing you all, but it was your choice to follow me! I know that we are meant to be here! Do you really think it's a coincidence that I found the correct mantra and chanted it the correct number of times to open the portal? This place is definitely familiar. " she retorted. "Now let's find where we are and do something useful instead of screaming at each other." She stood up slowly and took a look around the place observing intently. Then she sat back down and gave it a thought. "My best guess is that we are in the time of Mahabharat. It's just a guess but there's a high possibility. The only way to find out is to explore the place tomorrow and look for some clues after resting for today." she finally remarked.
"Yeah sure...And I'm Arjun." said Sathvik.
"I'm sure about that! All clues point in the same direction logically!" Nivitha said annoyed.
"If you are right, do you know what it means? This is all your fault!" Sathvik yelled.
Nivitha rolled her eyes and sighed. " I completely accepted that. This is why you should leave it to me to find a solution to this. I promise you that you won't get hurt and I'll make sure of our safety." she assured with a smile.
"You? Protect me? If your guess is right, we are in Dwapar Yug, in 1200 BCE." he remarked.
"Look, now all we can do is to sleep for some time and regain our strength. Do you have any ideas?" She asked ignoring his remark.
Sathvik nodded. He took out a small medicinal juice that he had stored in his bag. Then both of them took a drop each. Then after drinking some water, they rested under the tree for over a prahar. (4 hours)
Sathvik and Nivitha woke up to find themselves under a tree. But they felt fresh and relaxed. Then slowly, the events of the day dawned upon them. Nivitha glanced at her watch, which thankfully, hadn't stopped working. The smaller hand was on 5 and bigger on 12. It was evidently 5:00 in the evening.
Nivitha got up with a yawn and glanced at her surroundings. She started exploring the place with a twinkle in her eyes. It was probably a forest. Sathvik was meanwhile really tensed and unsettled. "How can you explore the place without a care in the world? Aren't you worried a bit?" He called out to her.
"Why should I be? Look how lucky we are! We get to witness Mahabharat and meet all the characters! Including Krishna. Do you hear that, Vik, Krishna!" Nivitha exclaimed."Doesn't it occur to you that we may never meet our parents ever again? Or our other friends! Or siblings! Or even Rita Ma'am!? Do you even know the time difference? When we get back there, if Rita Ma'am and others elders are 80 years old or if someone had invaded our country, I'll never forgive you!" He exclaimed.
"Don't worry. Kaliyug would be exactly the same as we left it. We have travelled to the past. And about other things, we'll surely meet Krishna. He'll help us." Nivitha said.
"What about Rakshasas? Or bad men? What if they try to harm us, mostly you?" Sathvik asked.
"We can look after ourselves. Let them come, I'll show you! I know how to deal with them. Come on! Let's go without wasting time." Nivitha answered. Sathvik shook his head and sighed but finally nodded. They took their backpacks and put them over their shoulders. Then, they began walking.
That's all for today guys! I'll update Nivitha's and Sathvik's POV itself for two more chapters and then go to other characters. Hope you enjoyed it. Bye.
