Aldo, my friend,
You didn't stick up for me. You never did. You were there, yes, but you laughed with them.
I remember you saying, "I was laughing with you, not at you." Aldo, I wasn't laughing. So why were you? Being Karen's cousin and all means nothing when it comes to friendship. Friendship is a promise, and you broke that promise.
For years now, we've crossed eachother in the hallways of school. You always, always smiled at me and said the same four words. "Hey, Aria. What's up?" Call me a bitch for walking around you and avoiding conversation, but to be honest, I don't wanna talk to you. Ever.
I like how after the bullying died down, you sat with Lucy, Christopher, Eric, Devon and I again. You acted like nothing happened. Maybe, I don't know, you wanted to see your "best friend" smile again.
Friendship was a promise, Aldo. And you broke that promise.
Signed,
The Best Friend
