"Draco Malfoy, do you take Hermione Granger to be your lawfully wedded wife?"

Draco took a deep breath. "I can't believe this, but..I do."

"And do you, Hermione, take Draco Malfoy to be your lawfully wedded husband?"

Hermione found it quite painful to say the words that would ruin her life. "I...do."

"I now pronounce you man and wife. You may kiss the bride." The preist said, showing a trace of a smile.

Draco leaned closer. And before Hermione could react, he pecked her lips faster than the speed of light. Ugh! Draco Malfoy just kissed her! That filthy vermin!

Just to show Hermione that he still despised her, Draco sent the evil eye over in Hermione's direction, while the guests erupted in shouts of joy.

Narcissa ran up to Hermione. "Welcome to the family, Hermione. You're a Malfoy!"

It took Hermione all of her self-control to resist the urge to cringe at the words. Instead of reacting to Narcissa's words negatively, Hermione twisted the ring she had recieved. The diamond in the center was huge. Hermione wanted so badly to toss it back to Draco and run away from everything.

Jean hurried over to the newlyweds. "You leave for Rome in 2 hours! Come along, your car is waiting for you!" Jean didn't want Hermione's muggle relatives to find out about Hermione's magical abilities, so she had arranged for a non-magical vehicle to pick them up and drop them off to where they were going to apparate so nothing raised any suspicion.

Hermione and Draco walked through the swarm of guests up to the front of the building.  There was a white stretch limo waiting for them.  The driver quickly held the door open for Hermione and Draco, so they could enter the vehicle.  Narcissa stuck her head in the window.

"Hermione, darling, when you get back from Rome, we must have tea together!" Narcissa said.  "and I'm sorry that you could not have a reception.  We didn't have enough time to plan!"

"It's alright." Hermione reassured Narcissa.  At least she was nice, unlike Draco.

"We'll meet you two back at Hermione's home, before you apparate." Narcissa gave a final word, then the driver sped away from the sounds of cheerful wedding guests.

Hermione and Draco sat in uncomfortabe silence.  Hermione couldn't believe that she was married.  And to her enemy, no less.  Why was her luck so rotten?

As the limo pulled up to Hermione's home, she and Draco climbed out.  Narcissa and Hermione's parents were waiting outside.

"Come on in and change into more comfortable clothing.  Mind you, it is very warm in Italy." Jean said, ushering the newlyweds inside and up the stairs.  Jean led Draco to a separate room with his suitcase.

Hermione's suitcase was lying on her bed, packed and ready to go.  She quickly changed out of her dress into a flowery sundress that came up to her knees.  She paired it with a pair of sandals.  When she stepped out and walked down the stairs with her suitcase, she found everyone waiting for her by the front door.

She spotted Draco, wearing muggle clothing.  Hermione quickly walked down the stairs, and put her suitcase on the floor.

"Now remember," Narcissa began lecturing the couple.  "This is a muggle hotel, so no magic unless no one can see you.  Be careful.  We will see you two in a week." Draco nodded at his mother.

"Remember the address." Jean said, then followed up and told them the address of the hotel.

"Oooh, they're going to side-apparate together for the first time!" Narcissa squealed.  She seemed so happy.
