It had been about a week since I last talked to the others. I had made quite a life in L'manberg. Me and Niki came closer and closer, soon she taught me some healing tricks and I taught her how to use a bow and arrow. When I was done with her hunting lessons within the walls of L'manberg, I would then go to the RV and listen to the plans he and the others had. Wilbur was the unofficial President but he still was one. Tommy was the vice president, and the rest of us had our own roles. Mine I knew most about because I did it. I was in charge of protection. Every night before retiring for the night I would go to Wilbur and talk to him about plans of strategies to defend ourselves.
Approximately about two days ago Dream had come by and said that if white flags were not risen soon, he would kill us all. I promised the men that I would watch out and protect them all. Many threats were given from him to destroying L'manberg to, killing us all off.
After that I would lie in bed memorizing the book from the Pillager leader. Sometimes I would wake up in the middle of the night and patrol the underground tunnels I had built to make sure Dream wasn't planning on a surprise attack. Some nights I would watch Eret leave to go somewhere and come back an hour later. I would then try to retrace his steps.
This morning I woke up putting on my L'manberg uniform. It was a white button up shirt with white pants that had black points almost up to my knees. I then put a light blue suit coat on with a tail. The coat had a yellow shoulder pad with tassels. along with decorative gold buttons. I had a brown sash across the front. me and Niki wore light blue, the others wore Navy blue, Fundy light blue coats with pink accents. Being who he is, he says it is made out of crayons. I tied the laces of my boots and exited my house.
Once I had joined Wilbur agreed to extend the walls to enclose my house so I could live in the 'L'manberg Woods' as Tubbo and Tommy called it. I let my light short brown hair hang loose with a simple gold pin keeping hair from getting in my face. Today I would not be going around and doing my usual routine, but going around the surrounding area finding items to trade. With my weapons equipped I left the walls of L'manberg.
Walking down the Prime path I made my way to wear the Wandering Trader usually sold most of his things. I walked up and shared some words before admiring the string and redstone he had gathered.
"Well well well, look who it is." I turned around putting the things down to see Dream standing behind me holding emeralds in his hands. I scoffed at him and turned around pulling my own currency out to pay the Trader. "Looks like someone is stocking up." Dream chuckles grabbing himself some of the items as well. "Planning for something big?" He asks me tauntingly.
"Such big talk for someone like you." I retort back at him as I take the supplies and place it in my bag. He also does the same but stops me before I can get any further.
"Planning on using that little book of yours to kill us off?" He says matter of factly.
"No, I am using this to gather resources in the Nether." I replied back. I lied. I was using it to put a little bit around the obsidian walls. TNT can't break obsidian but will kill everything but what is inside the walls.
"Netherrack armor is a mysterious thing." Dream pulls out a sword gleaming a purple gleam surrounding a maroon purple color. "Better stock up on it." I look up at him and pull out my netherrack arrow and string it to my bow.
"Better run before I make it so you only have one life left." I threatened him.
"Well that really sucks." He says unthreatened. "But I heard that a while back someone, who truly didn't abandon us." He says, giving me a look of despise." Has a whole hidden stash she has collected." He knows about the stash. After I had died I went gathering some, I traded half of my furniture to get 16 Golden apples which would give you back one life. I was only able to get 2 Enchanted Golden Apples that will give you back all the lives you lost. "I plan on finding them and giving you no choice but to surrender L'manberg to the Greater SMP." He finishes.
Before I could react I put my weapons away and I punch Dream in the face making a piece of his Mask fall to the ground. There I could see his Emerald eye. He lunged towards me but I dodged the attack. I swiftly moved on my feet. He grabbed out his sword and I took out the bow and arrow again aiming it at him. His sword swung to kill but I easily launched an arrow at him making the sword bounce out of his hands. It landed at his feet and I pointed another arrow at him.
"I promise you will regret doing that all to me." I said to him in anger. Instead of walking away, he took steps towards me causing the arrow to fall to the ground and my bow to be now facing the ground. He set his hand on my face.
"I did it to protect you." He said walking away and leaving me in anger and awe by his bravery. To protect me? Against what? I will never know.
"Are you okay?" A boy about 2 years younger than me asked. He had messy blonde hair and purple eyes. He wore a purple hoodie with black pants and shoes.
"Yea, I am just fine." I said through gritted teeth. I looked over at him and must have had a confused look on my face because he immediately said his name was Purpled and that he lived in the UFO just off the Prime Path. I thought this was strange as he seemed fit enough to run a marathon but had bags under his eyes.
"Sleepless nights?" I asked him before I could bite my tongue back.
"Yea, I always feel like there's something lurking in the night." He replies in a mysterious voice.
"Mobs?" I guessed.
"No, well I guess you could say a type of mob." He replied, "More of something that is undead but seen as the dead." This confused me because nothing could be dead but still be undead.
"What do you think it is?" I urged more out of him wanting an answer.
"It is not even possible that it is what I think it is. They don't originate or even have travel routes around the SMP." Part of me wanted to know but others didn't.
"Tell me what you think it is and maybe sometime tonight we can meet up and encounter what the Undead or Dead thing is." I said wanting more out of him. We stood in silence and he looked me up and down. He then bent over and picked the arrow up for me. He spun it between his fingers for a moment then he handed it over to me. Before I could take hold of the wood arrow he pulled it away slightly.
"As long as you promise not to tell anyone of what we are doing," He began looking around us. "You know as well as I do that it is against the law to stay up too late because that then makes the night take longer than when we all go to sleep and immediately its day." He said rambling as he finally stopped looking around meaning the coast was clear. With a nod of my head he let me take the arrow into my hand and cleared his throat. I lazily looked around until a glint of brown caught my eye. My head snapped to attention to what I saw.
"Pillagers." I said before he could say anything. I walked past a fumbling Purpled going to what I saw.
"Wh-how-wh," He stammered. He suddenly caught up to me and whispered and shouted to me, "How did you know?!?" he exclaimed. I quickly shushed him and pointed to a nearby tree where I could sense the Pillager was hiding behind.
Suddenly an arrow whizzed past our heads and I pulled an arrow out and immediately shot him in the stomach. I ran towards him to see he still had a glimpse of life in him.
"Why are you here?" I demanded of the slowly dying Pillager. All I got was him looking up at me slowly bringing his bloody hand to his pocket and taking out a piece of paper. Purpled grabbed it from him and unfolded the old yellow torn paper and showed me a picture of the old me with the silver hair.
"Brighton Blue is here. And I must find her to keep her safe." He said before closing his eyes and breathing his last breath. His blood was on me and I felt like it was burning my skin. I screamed and crawled as fast as I could from the body as it flew away in the wind. I breathed in deep breaths, Suddenly I jerked back into reality and I jumped by the sudden touch of Purpled's hand on my arm.
"Are you okay?" He asked me. I nodded my head and slowly stood up taking deep breaths. "Aren't you Brighton?" He asked me looking at the picture of the silver haired me and the short haired dark brown haired me now. Nodding my head again he seemed confused.
"It's a long story." I told him. He directed me to follow him.
"Well it won't be getting dark for a while and you seem to have taken care of my problems." He brought me to a nearby bench and directed me to sit down with him. Before I knew it I was telling my story to another person once again. This time he would ask questions and respond differently at the right moments.
"I'm sorry." Purpled said, placing a hand on my shoulder as the sun set in front of us.
"Well I guess I ought to go." I said, wiping away a singular tear from my cheek. I stood up and we said our goodbyes. On the way to L'manberg, all that occupied my thoughts was one question, what did the Pillager mean when he said 'And I must find her to keep her safe.' Why must he keep me safe? And from what? Should I have killed him or captured him for interrogation? The thoughts made my head hurt. I pushed them away even though no answer came to the light as I approached the open gates of L'manberg.
"Tunes!" Tubbo shouted running towards me. Being enclosed in a hug I felt another person looming over me. I let him go and urged him to run forward. When I looked up there stood Wilbur with a Beanie covering his hair as he wore his uniform.
"Walk with me Brighton." Wilbur said, he only ever says my full first name if it means business. A let a straight face settle into my features and allowed him to tow me in the opposite direction of my house and instead to the RV. The direction I had sent Tubbo.
"I'm sorry I was out all day." I quickly say as he puts an arm around my shoulders.
"You are just fine." He replies to me, "Everyone needs a day off."
"That's good." I say letting a breath out that I never knew I had kept in.
"But," He said with a tint of regret, "we have business we need to talk about." He says as he opens the door of the RV for me letting me enter first. When I walked into the planning room Everyone looked up. Theri stood everyone in L'manberg excluding the missing seat that usually held Eret. The loss of the presence of the man led me to him leaving every night and disappearing for minutes at a time.
"Were is Eret?" Wilbur asks us all.
"He is coming, he just needs to finish something up at his home." Niki says in her soft spoken voice. When I sat down my bow was hung on the back of my chair.
"What happened while I was gone?" I asked them all.
"Nothing really, Dream came by looking upset about something and threatened us about not surrendering." Wilbur said, taking a seat at the head of the table.
"Isn't the deadline tomorrow?" I asked him.
"Ye-" Suddenly a voice outside took us all by surprise and we all ran out.
"You've messed up bigtime Wilbur!" Dream shouted as he stood atop the black and yellow walls. "I know you have a secret stash of resources, so you surrender them all now or I will rip you off this land like an old pussy scab!" He yelled. He had put a new mask on and three dark shadows stood behind him.
"What is he talking about?" Fundy asked, looking at all of us. Suddenly Eret ran over to us all,
"About time you joined us!" Tommy yelled at the sunglasses man.
"I have given you enough time to surrender it all, Ms. Blue." Dream said, narrowing his gaze towards me.
"What is he talking about?" Wilbur said, turning towards me.
"I have a secret stash of God apples." I told them all. "And you will have to torture me to get the place they are hidden at!" I yelled up at Dream. He grunted in frustration.
"Then you leave me with no choice." Dream said as he gestured to the three silhouettes behind him. They all made their way down the wall, and I pulled an arrow into the string of my bow ready to shoot whoever I had to.
"Don't fight!" Wilbur said. I put my weapons down as Wilbur nudged us all to the RV. "To the RV!" He shouted to us all. Eret led us in and quickly told us of this hidden room he had dug out under the RV through this network of tunnels.
"This will lead us to an escape room where there is armor and weapons if needed." Eret said, looking at Wilbur. Wilbur looked at the rest of us and kept his gaze on Tommy. Tommy nodded his head showing his trust towards Eret. Wilbur looked back at the man,
"Shows us." Wilbur watched Eret carefully as he opened a secret hatch under the table and had us all one by one slide down to the bottom of the tunnel. As soon as all of us gathered we ran through multiple narrow paths, going left or right at different forks in the dirt. Soon after a couple of sneezes from the kicked up dirt, we filed into a room with chests. Each one had our names on it with a big button in the middle of the room.
"What does this button do?" Tommy asked, pushing it. Suddenly a deep rumble came from the far wall from me. I pulled an arrow to the string of my bow and watched dirt bounce around our feet.
"Sorry boys, it was never meant to be!" Eret said aloud as smoke filled the room suddenly a glint caught my eye and I quickly grabbed one of my swords putting my bow and arrow away and blocked the sharp metal from killing me. The face on the other end of the sword belonged to Sapnap. I looked around as Wilbur Tubbo and Fundy were killed to dust. Niki stood her own and Tommy fought bravely until Punz stabbed him in the chest. I brought my attention back to Sapnap as I deflected his sword. Suddenly George killed Niki leaving me the only one standing. With all I could I gave him a slight cut on his arm.
A whistle sounded from behind the dirt wall that was now exposed. Subpoena looked back at me but I was occupied with Punz looking right at me with his icy blue eyes looking into my dark blue ones. He had a scar running from his eyebrow into his hairline. Sapnap grabbed Punz by the arm and made his gaze let go of mine. He ran after the other two into the hole closing it behind them. Before the wall closed I saw Eret looking back at me.
"Ugh!" I shouted, throwing the sword to the ground. I sank to the floor while tightly hugging myself as I slid to the floor. I laid there for about a good 10 minutes as I sobbed about how much I hated this situation. With my last tears falling down my face I looked straight ahead and set my face straight. Quickly stood up and loaded all my weapons back onto my person. If Dreams wants war, then let's give him war.
I walked that path back to the trailer but when I tried to open up the hatch it would not budge. My only choice was to make it back to the room and see where the three men and Eret left. I ran through the tunnels and spent another 10 minutes making it back to the room meaning I have been down here for a good half an hour. I hit the button in the center of the room and the walls slowly opened making all of the effects before happening again. I quickly ran through the tunnel coming to a ladder.
Climbing it was hard because no light was showing me where the next rung would be. Looking down just showed me a black abyss under my feet. Suddenly while trying to find the next rung my hand hit a metal surface right above my head.
"Ow." I said as my hand shot back and I tried to shake the pain away. I reached it up again, this time palm flat to the air above me. It hit the cold metal surface again and I pushed it open. The creeks of the hinges were loud as it slowly let fresh air in. I breathed in happiness to be no longer breathing in the dust filled air for the first time in a while. As the hatch door could no longer open I quickly climbed to the surface.
I took in more deep breaths as I took out my bow and an arrow. It was still midday as I looked around to see trees. I stood up and closed the metal door and made my way through the trees. Something about these woods reminded me of an old memory but I couldn' recall it. Suddenly a wood structure came into view and I realized that it was Dream's house. I quickly ran to the side of the warm wood under a nearby window.
"That did not go as planned." Dreams' voice came into earshot meaning I found a good spot to listen in.
"We should have waited until it was darker." Sapnap said to the others, "That way she would have not had her mind in the right place." He finished.
"Or maybe next time we won't put you in charge of killing her." Dream interjected.
"So you're saying it was my fault?" Sapnap asked him, clearly appalled by his companions' words.
"Punz should have been the one behind the blade." Dream continued. "That way we would have killed our target."
"He froze." Sapnap said.
"He what?" Dream snapped clearly angry at all of this. I moved from my position to another window so I could make a glimpse inside but was not successful. Instead I made for a spot higher up to the window.
"I froze okay!" Punz yelled.
"Like a deer in headlights." George said, laughing at his own comment.
"You should have never come close to her." Dream tells Punz.
"You can't control love, Dream." George told the two.
"How was I supposed to know that she would come to my house when I was intoxicated!" Punz told everyone in the room.
"You should have turned her away!" Dream yelled even louder than before.
"Like you should have turned her away after you saved her life back in the forest when you first saw her!" Punz yelled louder.
"Will you both stop!" George yelled at the two, "You both did it because you loved her okay." They both loved me, that is the only reason I am here.
"Can we go over the plan now?" I heard Eret saw after a long pause.
"Yes you can." Dream said after taking a deep breath.
"Wilbur plans on building up the walls more and running a campaign in a couple of months." Eret says to the four other men.
"So we plan on finding a way to ruin the campaign to make sure he isn't president again." Sapnap adds to what Eret just said.
"Exactly."
"What other pieces of information did you gather?" Dream asks the man. Eret was a spy, a good one at that.
"Brighton runs all of the defenses and has made it almost impossible to hide anything inside or just outside the walls of the Nation." Eret responds to the question.
"So we just have to make sure that she is overwhelmed so that she can't properly check the wall as she does now." George interjects into the conversation between the other two men.
"How do we make it so she is overwhelmed?" Sapnap asks the room of people.
"We give her everything we got," Punz begins "We make it so she is paranoid to the point were she doesn't get sleep until our time of attack."
"How do we get her paranoid?" George asks.
"How ever you do it, make sure that it doesn't lash out back to me." Eret says, "We all know that none of them will trust or like me after what happened tonight." The chatter ended after that as all of the men left the house except Dream but he held Eret back.
"Thank you Eret," Dream tells him, shaking it firmly. "And as we promised, you are now the King of the SMP." I gasped but I immediately clasped my hand around my mouth. Both of their heads shot towards where I once was perched. I got up as quickly as possible and ran from the house back to the hatch door.
I was running out of energy but I lifted the lid and climbed down, closing it behind me. Before I closed it I saw what must be Dream running over here. I was too fast. I landed in the dirt by the time the hatch was opened. I quickly slunk back into the shadows barely able to see Dream begin his descent. As quietly as possible I ran through the tunnel back into the room with the button. I started to run past before I realized that they couldn't possibly be able to open the door from the outside.
Cursing myself, I ran back and I saw Dream almost to the doors. My eyes widened and I took out a knife and threw it at the button. It hit the target and the door started to close.
"No!" Dream shouted. He stared me down as the door slowly shut his gaze off of me. I took a deep breath and walked the tunnels, before I knew it I was back at where the RV was. I climbed up and pushed at the door, when it didn't budge I positioned myself so I could hit the door with my shoulder. I lifted myself quickly and hit the door making it fly open. Dirt flew into my lungs and I started to cough it up, before I could lift myself to the floor I saw multiple swords and arrows pointed at me. I stopped and looked up at the one pointing directly at my throat.
"Brighton!" Wilbur said as I looked up at him. He put down his sword and came over to me. All of the others lowered their weapons and Wilbur helped me up onto the floor. "Tommy, go get a wet washcloth." He demanded of Tommy. Begrudgingly he stood up and ran outside.
'What happened?" Niki asked as she knelt down, giving me a water bottle. I opened it and poured it all on my head. My brown hair is now dripping from the water. I wiped my hands over my face, making the dirt into mud. Tommy ran back in and handed me the towel, wiping away the rest of the mud/dirt off.
"Eret is a spy, he knows all of our plans." I said to them through deep breaths and coughs. "They're also planning on making me paranoid so I can't protect L'manberg when they attack." I looked around at all of them and shrugged my shoulders. "Also Eret is now King of the SMP." I said standing up.
"Wait, what?" Tommy said in his British accent.
"Because of Eret keeping the others in the loop they promised him he could be King." I repeated.
"What do we do, Wilbur?" Tommy told his older brother. Wilbur paced back and forth with hsi chin in his hand. I still sat there as Niki brushed the dirt out of my clothes, getting it all out and combing her fingers through my short hair.
"I want them prepared for war," He began with his back towards us but his face tilted in our direction. "We do it when we plan, but we up our defenses." He continued looking at me now. "Brighton will train us." He looked over at Tommy, Tubbo and Fundy. "We will fight them with our swords, better than we did tonight." He looked back at me, "Brighton will no longer be called Tunes." I looked up at him, fully locking his deep chocolate brown gaze into mine. I nodded my head. "Today, in that room, Tunes died." He kept talking, earning a gasp from everyone in the room except me. "Today, Tony, our trainer and soldier." He broke eye contact and looked over at the rest of them while saying the next sentence, "We no longer run away, we run into the face of battle. We will win." The others started to cheer. "L'manberg is new and victorious. We are invincible, we are untouchable." He punched the desk making us all burst into cheer, but I was not cheering. "Today, we rewrote history!"Authors note: Yea I wrote a new ending, and yes I am making a new ending to the Dream SMP because like Wilbur said "Today, we rewrote history!"
